Troubleshooting ABS light - 97 Sunfire
Monday, January 29, 2007 10:32 AM
Hey,

I have a 97 sunfire 2.2L, auto. I've got an abs light on, however no problems with the abs. It seems to function normally on all four wheels. How do i tell wich sensor is causing the light? could it be something else? Is there any way to troubleshoot the problem rather then replace all sensors?

thanks,
brandon

Hmm, let me rephrase. How does the average home mechanic tell which light? The crappy obdII scanner i have only reads/clears engine codes.

I guess my question is...

Is it only an abs sensor that could cause a light? or could it be another part of the braking system(there is a sensor on the master cylinder and then the abs controller). Because if it is most likly a sensor i will get a couple of used ones (a front and rear) and do some old fashioned parts swapping

thanks,
brandon
