I bought a Delco remote multi-disk CD changer off ebay and from what I've found it's correct for the vehicle. I also bought the required in-dash tuner to go along with it. I also got what are supposed to be the correct mounting brackets from GM. Here are my questions:
1) Does anyone have this factory setup in a Sunfire/Cav? Any problems with it? Any chance I can get some photos emailed to me of the remote changer location?
2) I know the remote disk changer is trunk mounted, but where exactly does it mount? I think the Firebirds were horizontally mounted near the drivers side wheel well in the trunk. Is it the same location for my '98 Sunfire? The GM dealership couldn't help me with any parts diagram, etc so I'm on my own.
3) I needed to buy the correct factory in-dash stereo to interface with the remote CD changer. This means I went from the original AM/FM/CD w/Equalizer to an AM/FM Cass w/Equalizer. I bought what I believe to be the correct interface wiring harness to connect the radio and remote changer. Will I need to do any kind of theft unlocking on the "new" radio I bought from ebay? If so will a GM dealer need to unlock it or can I do it? If the dealer needs to, what will I be charged for this service?
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
