I mean on the car its self
I hear alot of ppl put it either in their gas cap door or there grill somewhere.
but i dont.... i keep mine in my wallet. lol.
Get one of those magnetic holders. I've used them for years with no problems. Then just crawl under the rear of the car and find a good hiding spot. The rear is better on J-bodies since there is more clearance.
get a key and cut off the rubber or plastic head. drill a larger hole through the head of the key. remove your license plate. rescrew in your plate with the key between the plate and the bumper. as long as you use a screw with a slot or philips head, all you'll need is some change or a screwdriver to remove the plate and there is your spare.
At Wall-Mart various adhesive tapes have fabric reinforcement....
Also they are extra sticky....
Much better than ordinary duct tape...
One of the first things I did after buying my Cavalier was
buy 2 spare keys. The locksmith had blanks without
any rubber or plastic finger grip, just plain flat....
One is taped down in the inner curve of the rear bumper...
Can feel it's still there when bending down and running
my hand across it...
The other is in my billfold...
Just my method....

I did that too, reinforced with duct tape
I keep an ignition key and door unlock key in my wallet, for my Camaro. I don't really drive my J anymore..
Since that one time I locked my keys in my car, I ALWAYS double check if I have my keys or not.

This is a great post incase I run across any of your cars, I know where you hide the keys....
I keep a key in my wallet, why give someone free access to your car by hiding a key on it, thats like keeping a copy of your house key in the mailbox or under a floor mat.
my spare key is in my house.
My wife has it on her desk at home.
Well thats at least the last time I saw it anyway.

A good place where i hide mine on my mucsles cars is up inside the front bumper on a peice of wire make sure you have it on there good or you will lost it. or you could duck tape it on the inside of your rim if they are stock.
if you have a girlfriend...have her hide it in her cooter. But if she cheats on you, someone might steal your car.

Twist tie and place of your choice. I agree with acidburn, thanks for the hints. BTW that funny as hell Brenden.
I keep a spare at home, and in my wallet. In the rare situation that I don't have pockets to put my keys in when i get out somewhere, i just bend back the side mirror and stuff 'em in that lil hole there.
I used one of the magnetic key holders, but it seized shut one day when I needed it. (it had a slide cover) Now I just keep one in me wallet

so how does this help you if you lock your keys in your car?
If you can get one of those magnetic lock boxes on the top part of the subframe, thats where i have mine.
