I was looking for a supercharger for my buddy's monte carlo and the only place i could find one was from RSM. I then decided to do a little browsing for myself and found a supercharger kit for my car, 2002 sunfire with the 2200 SFI motor. Anyone used it or hear/seen it used?
I also noticed the intake manifold and thought of getting that too.
Advice?
(i would only look into a supercharger because i just JUST did my exhaust and dont want to replace the header with a turbo header...and i just recently decided that boost was something i wanted).
In short, don't. RSM is not a very decent company.
i didnt get the feel that it was.
is there anywhere i can get a supercharger for a 2200? or am i going to have to go with a turbo?
nowhere else are you gonna get one. a friend of mine had one, it was pretty sweet, i thought, RSM treated him quite well...and even tho he didnt buy the charger from them, they still reflashed his computer for nothing. had some pretty descent gains on his car, but got MAJOR heatsoaked...even with an oil cooler.

this useless post brought to you by the alcoholic known as LUNDiS
if you want to S/C your car then why don't you save up 10,000+ and have a 3.8L S/C swapped in? you wont reget it
ask Rodimus about the RSM charger
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
^^ ditto
although he seems to always have a problem with it
For your engine, your best bet would be to go turbo. Personally, I haven't had a problem with RSM but there have been more than a few disappointing stories told around here about their unprofessionalism.
Blown.
RSM do not exist anymore. You can still order from them over the internet, but there is no service or customer service department anymore, so if you need anything, you are screwed. But if you want, sure, order from them, you can sepnd $6000 to get about 15hp. Oh, and btw, their reflash doesnt do anything. A friend of mine that tunes and reflashes pcm's got ahold of an RSM charged and reflashed car, they changed the fan on/off temp, THAT WAS IT, nothing else was changed.
looks like its a turbo kit for me!
but thats not taking place for awhile i guess...
ill go for suspension first, im doing my brakes as soon as they get to my house, and ill do suspension, and after i think ive gotten all the life out of the header i got ill drop a kit under the hood..... what do you guys think of the kit from cavalier connection? any good? that one seems to be pretty bolt on to me...
From what I've read and heard (do some searches in the Boost forum), they're a great company with good people. I'm sure if you email them they'll be able to answer all of your questions.
Blown.
