Ok, lets say gm didn't put speed limiter on the cav/fire......what would it beable to reach completely stock?
I'd say the Z would reach at least 143.
never. more like low 130's.

agreed. and this is assuming you have the tires and suspension upgrades needed to do it.
i have went in the 150 mph range before. But i am not stock and had a buddy in a 96 WS6 follow me

well lets see...it takes like 30 minutes for me to go from 100-108..that's on flat road foot to the floor. This is a 2200. Seriously.....top end is non existant

im a @!#$ pussy ass liar! i lied to my girlfriend over and over, sat around with her friends naked and stayed home downloading porn...she loved me and i hurt her...i deserve to be alone and unhappy...no wonder every girl i try to love leaves me...i suck.
in a 2200 any "end" is non existant
well the ld9 makes horespower to either 5200 or 5600 RPM I don't remember. When I hit 109 in 5th gear I'm only at 4650 RPM. Do the math. I still got at least 600 RPM . In 5th gear that averages somewhere aroun 25 to 27 MPH for every 1000 RPM. When I get onto dyno I'll tell you cause I have a toggle switch for my speed limiter. Then I'll post the dyno. Won't be for about a year and a half though cause I'm in Afghanistan right now. 27 x 5= 135 1/5 x 27= 5.4 135+ 5.4 = 140.4 Though the numbers aren't exact. Although I seen sometime ago on here that the top mph was 143.6
^ yes, but you are not accounting for drag (air resistance). it becomes MIGHTY forceful at 130+ mph in our cars.......

if i remember correctly someone did the math using the gear ratios and it came to the mid 140s and something like 137 factoring in the aero factors. im gonna find out eventually on the dyno just to see what the gears will let us do.
I used to race cars, now I race myself.
5K PB: 24:50
10K PB: 54:26
when I put on my white face gauges i took note of speed/RPM ranges ex say in 5th gear going 50 its at 2500rpm and blah blah blah. well.......I found somthing interesting out...
in 4th gear every 500rpm is 10mph all izusu 2.4 owners try it out its kinda cool because well I dunno why but it is but that means without a gov but with the revlimiter it could go lil over 125 in 4th
150! @!#$ that sweet! just a question though boostedeco I saw a vid while back of a cav that looked a lot like yours goin like 140 or somthing was that you? have you dyno'd her just wondering what shes pushin
whoops I mean't 5600 to 6250. 6250 is where my father in law's auto shifts at

140 something on the road coarse doing lapping, we have a really nice straight. And thats just with standard intake header exhaust...of coarse I have all the suspension and tires

and brakes!!
I agree with viper and rob you have to have alot more power than stock and better suspension and tires to make it to 140+. But if you are just taking into acount that you have enough rpm yeah maybe 140 is a probable number but wind is a big factor.

well its simple, just get the car to 108MPH, right at the speed limiter, but dont hit it. Then put the car into 1st gear. This is disable the speed limiter and allow you to go as fast as your car can mechanically.

yeah that was me. I was racing a red prelude who is also the guy that make the vid. Yeah i have taken it to the dyno. It was a mustang dyno and she hit 217hp and 241ft/lbs at 8psi and not even tuned right

If you drive a jbody over 108 mph, everything goes plaid. Trust me I know this. I disabled the limiter on my car and drove on the freeway with my friend in his vette behind me. Once I hit 109 the world dissapeared and I saw clocks and cookies floating around. Some witch flew by me too. My friend said that fire appeared on the road and I was gone. Then when I slowed down, I saw Vin Diesel doing a dance and waiving goodby. Then I was back on the freeway with my car covered in ice. I don't know but somebody told me thats what happens when you don't upgrade your suspension.
I'd just say to ask whatever you hit how fast you hit it at.
