my anti-lock brakes in my 2000 dont work anymore!
Thursday, November 10, 2005 12:57 AM
i replaced 2 spindles on the passenger side because i got in an accident but that wasn't the reason.

it all started in the winter my abs worked fine untill a month later it started messing up and turning off. i checked all the connections and it still buzzes. then the abs light comes on.. it stinks because i need it for winter! and alot of icy roads. i have a blown syncro for my 2nd gear but all i can do is downshift without overreving it.(if i overrev it just a little it'll pop out of gear.

Take it to a dealer and get the code scanned. That should tell you what's wrong.

You can't just go and start replacing stuff or you'll go broke before you find the problem.

Yeah, take it some place to find out what's wrong. Those sensors are $80 retail. And it could be wires anyway. Some places will barrow you a code scanner. Once you find out where the problem is, you may need to test the sensor. some places will rent you a tester too (IIRC autozone and napa will rent testers, though it varies by location).

Is the cars mileage still within the warranty limits? Did you go past the end date of the warranty? If not, you're still covered. Go to another dealer if the one you went to doesn't want to do it, or call GM directly and tell them the issue you're having with the dealer.
