Why?

first off this should be in suspension. second NO NOT AT ALL. if you want to know why not go check the FAQ in the suspension forum
do you trust your whole car, to ride safely on $40 dollar springs/coilovers. I paid 4x that for just some lowering springs. i don't see how something with more parts could cost that much and be quality or safe.

Where are the cheapest lowering Springs?

If you want a coilover sleeve kit, you have two choices. RK Sport and Ground Control. There are no others that I know of that are engineered properly for our cars.
And you need some Koni dampers to go with them.
Stop trying to find a cheap solution. They don't exist and will only cause you problems.
cheapest isnt the best when it comes to suspension. a good set of springs like the eibach is probably going to be good for you. also if you lower the car you need new struts to handle the drop. oem struts arent going to handle any drop. whatever anyone says "ive been lowered 1.75" on stock struts w/ no problems". thats

, wait til they raise the car back up then they will notice they are blown. suspension isnt something your just going to put 100 bucks into and be done. a good suspension is gonna run you like 400-500 bucks and thats just for lowering springs and struts. if you want coils and struts add about 300-400 on top of that. if you want to find the cheapest decent lowering springs, read the FAQ's as stated earlier. it tells you what springs and struts are good and where to buy from. now if you want to put on cheap 40 dollar ebay coils and ride around lowered 3" on stock struts, then by all means ago ahead but dont come back here needing to know why my car bounces and why everything is breaking.
So your telling me I'm going to have to pay $400-$500 just to get rid of my wheel to fender gap.

If that's all you're trying to accomplish, go out and get yourself some Eibach Prokit springs and KYB AGX shocks and call it a day.
Coilovers are made for stiffer handling and ride height tunability.
How much are those and where do I find them?

for a good suspension like the eibach and agxs like ww said yes it gonna be about 500 bucks but it will ride awesome.
That is crazy. Why can't you just put some lowering springs on for about $200 and call it a day. Are our cars that crappy?

i already told you why. stock struts cant handle any type of drop. PLEASE read the faq's. it explains everything
The Rock,
You could try Suspension Techniques 1.2" drop springs. They are the smallest drop you can find but have a spring rate of about the same as stock springs. I've had them on my car for 10,000 plus miles and for over two years with the stock struts and the ride is just fine. The springs are $195 (including shipping) from
www.lmperformance.com. I installed them myself, got a front-end alignment for $40 (our cars don't require a 4-wheel alignment), and like I said, they've been fine for over 10,000 miles on stock struts.
This is a less expensive way to lower your car - it's not going to ride as beautifully as with aftermarket shocks/struts, but it will get rid of fender gap, not lower the car too much, and still have a stock/slightly stiffer (less body roll) ride.
if you buy cheap parts then you will get a crappy ride, crappy handling, and riding around on blown struts is really not all that safe. like said above, KYB AGX struts and the Eibach pro kit is probaly the best bang for your buck. when modding a car you want to do it right the first time.
if you wanna go ahead and buy crap, and put said crap on your car go ahead. just dont come back on here crying about something happened to your car.

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
Just leave it stock instead of going cheap bud.

What the hell does this have to do with the car being crappy or not?
Having $200 springs and stock struts is crappy.
You think you can put $200 springs on a BMW and have a decent ride?
NOOOO
TRUST ME, I HAD THE EXPERIENCE.... I bought some ebay coilovers and installed them, that cost me $60 the coilovers and $100 the instalation...
they sent me the wrong spring seat and I had to buy a set from another coilover set at the shop... they charged me $40....
So that was 100+60+40 = $200 without bearings... They bounced alot OMG, and the right heigh was not even very dropped... IT sucked........ So, that was on stock struts, I DIDNT FOUND JBO AT THAT MOMENT...............
I had to replace all my suspention with agx and H&R's== $350 + $140 + $70 for spring seats, strut mounts = $560
Could have bought some koni yellows and sportlines if I wasnt so stupit to loose $200 bucks.......
but ehhhh, life always gives you experience.......
I had to replace it by emergency, otherwise I could be dead, or my car could have.....
now my wheelbearings are making noise and I cant imagine how much stuff I damaged......

you are an idiot.
go cheap and find out what happens. go and buy your stupid $40 springs and then when something breaks dont come complaining around here. you have been told what to do in order to have it done correctly. if you want to be cheap then give up your car and take the bus. if you cant afford to wait or save then you shouldnt have the ability to mod your car. you might as well go and get that turbonator as well because you have that kind of mindset. you ask for answers to something and then dont want to listen to reason because you are cheap
I like my H&R setup.
H&R Springs: $140
KYB AGX's: $365
Alignment: $65
Total: $570
A quality coilover system will run you about $900 or more. Cheaping out on your suspension isn't really a good idea since it is what keeps your tires planted on the road. If you use a cheap coilover system (like both the ones you linked to) it will cause your tires to loose traction after going over a bump. This could become especially dangerous in wet conditions. The cheap coils with factory struts would be even more dangerous.
Everybody is just looking out for your saftey (some are just more straight forward than others).
