will this make the front end sit lower than it does to equal the back? sorry for the dumb question? but i heard your suppose to trim an inch off of it ? again sorry for the newb question
Moms & Dads talk to your kids, before its too late, tell them to say no to aluminum wings.
thats only if ur lowering it.. and u didnt say if u did or not.. so........
if its stock, leave them be it wont change the ride height
sorry im lowered with h&r's trimming it down an inch will make it sit lower?

no....
bump stops are there for when you overcompress the strut shaft...
the spring is the only thing that has effect on the height.
The manufacturers tell you to trim the bump stop to make up for lost suspension travel. If you didn't trim your bump stops and you aren't hitting them, then I wouldn't worry about pulling everything off to trim an inch off. Like Event said, they are only there to keep you from overcompressing your strut shaft (and thus, loosing a bunch of oil, damaging the strut, or getting dirt down in your oil). Bumpstops have no effect on your ride height unless you are stupid enough to lower the car so much that you are riding on them.
Hope that was worth my last post of the month

.
no zach lol you must IM me or email me please lol
or i guess i can just wait one day for you to get more posts lol...
but i wanna meet up with you in deland sept 25th!
I took mine completely off with sportlines and it rode like complete @!#$, every bump was just metal on metal and killed my back, but yes, it did lower my car more and i tucked the front just a little bit but my back is just fine and there still off, but if i were you i wouldn't even cut em, unless you went to the dealer and got some new ones for 31$ cause then they won't be so bad and won't hit the bottom, if i could do it all over again i wouldn't cut them at all, just my opinion
NEW SIG COMING SOON FOR 07'!!!
Everyone can take their opinions and shove them.
Fact: Bump stops have nothings to do with ride height. The only limit downward travel as Event said.
Fact: You should trim them if your spring instructions say to. This is to make up for lost travel as Zach stated.
Fact: Having no bump stops is a bad idea. You can seriously damage your struts, in more than one way.
Unless you have a degree in some form of Engineering I don't want to hear any more opinions or stories about what your buddies did.

you;re def new to cars

its cool, but heres a run down.
if you were hitting metal on metal...that meant your struts were prob blown...
the stock bumpstops are so soft, you prob would have heard a thud if they were there. the metal on metal is your blown struts hitting the strut housing....internally.
if not then something simply was loose.
31$? aftermarket bumpstops are not even half that price for a set of 4. look for places like energy suspension.
if the instrutctions say trim....do so.... not installing them correctly can void the struts if not the springs.... but def the struts.
