Koni Strut Question
Wednesday, June 29, 2005 11:38 AM
Hey guys I am kinda having a problem with my front right strut. I installed my setup (koni yellows with sportlines) and everything was great. But of course I have to run into problems like always. The bottom bolt that holds the koni strut into the old strut housing fell out. Just curious if anybody knows the size of the bolt used to replace it with. I got a 7/16 bolt and it fit up into it, but im not sure if its gonna be to long. I called koni and the guy said he wasnt sure on it. Any help would be appreciated.

LOCTITE!

the size of the bolts has been mentioned on here a very long time ago, you could try searching but i doubt you'll find a bolt locally to fit that thing as i remember most people that lost them had to get them direct from koni

again....

LOCTITE! lol

I believe the thread size is 12 x1.5--- The same as your lug nuts...

I had the bottom bolt on my koni start to fall out- it was banging around and got all bitched up. It would not thread back into the koni.. These were koni reds @ the time.

I bought a tap & die, dressed them up and repaired the problem.

This was like 3 years ago though, so don't take the size too literally, but Im 90% sure thats the size.

ok, thanks guys i will see what i can find out. And "MeltdOwn350 aka cOdy" i agree with you using that. It was so annoying and scary to ride down the road and have the bolt fall out and then have the car sound like it was going to do a faceplant on the highway. Thanks again guys!
