whenever im getting hard on the gas, or even just cruising, once i hit 70Mph my ABS light comes on. At first i thought it was just a light, so around 10mph with no other car around i slammed the brakes and they did indeed lock up, other then that with the light off, my ABS works fine. Also when i turn my hazard lights on, i hear a click click in front of the car and the light comes on shutting them off. To fix both, i have to shut the car off and turn back on. With my 96 ohv this never happened, this is a 95 ohv. I feel the hazard light issue is just a safety feature or something, but at 70+mph is probably where i need the ABS most lol any ideas?
check the reluctor rings at each wheel, most likely gunked up or have some really bad rust. Or just buy better tires so you can never lock them up. My stock brakes cannot lock my star specs (thank god, I'd hate to get a flat spot on my $220 tires.)

My personal opinion is abs sucks. Also don't drive 70 and put your self in a spot where you have to slam on the brakes.
I would assume before posting on here you checked all the fuses as well as relays and the aforementioned rings by the spindles?
Well i had the car on the lift the other day for another reason but i gave all the plugs by the wheels a look and wiggled them, they all seemed solid but that doesn't tell much lol and as for fuses I only checked the big one under the hood which is good. Haven't really given this problem my times worth of checking yet, was more just wondering if anyone has had this before. And as for driving 70+ and putting my self in a situation where I'd have to slam the brakes, I try not to lol too many accidents, I don't like getting up close on people anymore and certainly don't like it when people do it to me but idk where you all live, but here in NY there are a few parkways at night everyones doing 70-80 even though the limit is 55.
I drive on the e-way everyday for work and as safe as I try to be there is a near panic stop at least once a week. No one knows how to merge and everyone gets confused at one spot in particular so I know to take extra care. That's not ALWAYS an option but definitely can be reduced by being observant and not riding someones ass. I'd too suggest giving the rings a look over as usually rust is to blame.

Agreed. I've had mine disabled for 5 years and deleted for about 9 months, I don't miss it a bit.
I used to think it was just because the car was old, but the ABS in my parents 07 Impala is useless in the snow.
Obviously disabling your ABS is done at your own risk, and you have to understand how to compensate your driving when you don't have it, so be careful, and don't go slamming the brakes.
Paying someone to install parts and bragging about it being fast, is like watching someone bang your wife and being proud to raise their kids.

Very true. I'm still not good enough to get the threshold feel to not lock up my blizzaks on dry when stopping fast. I dont have that issue with the star specs in the summer (because the anemic stock brakes can't lock them up no matter how hard you press the brake).

well i've gotten used to it, never locked these wheels up(knock on wood) lol but my dads truck does not have ABS and driving that for about a month made me find the perfect pressure spot where anymore will lock up and how to do your own ABS(on and off brake)..yeah a whole month! im a fast learner lol just embarrassing driving a hunk of @!#$ then locking up the brakes and having everyone look at you thnking you almost crashed
