was flipping through ebay today and came across
this auction... claims control arms were made by mantapart?
sure look like the junk rk sport ones to me....
(tried to /img but it wont work)
I must confess... I feel like a monster!
i never knew about any performance arms made for our cars...except for the welded ones...are these good ones? i think i'm just gonna go with the aluminum modded ones i planned on getting.
Look like RKSport ones to me. Even look like the first design. I would stay away from them.

^^^ yup. dont you got a set on the reaper or something?
I must confess... I feel like a monster!
I do like the fact that the control arms have the heims in place of the ball joint.
Now if I could get that setup with the heims I'd be all over it.
And the Ingalls camber plates for the rear are junk. They break quite easily when you're cutting them out to fit your hubs so there too I'd stay away.
But I do have to say that those tubular control arms are sure enough sexy.
Sooo, anyone know where to get some heims to replace ball joints.

Thank you Dave and JBO!
what goes wrong with the control arms? they are friggin dead sexy lol
well if they are rk sport's they had issues with the welds cracking. got so bad in fact that they actually would trade you a stock set for a set you bought.
pretty hairy deal actually...
I must confess... I feel like a monster!
I could be wrong but those don't look like the RK sport ones to me.

^^^ really...
anybody got pics of rk's?????
I must confess... I feel like a monster!
If they are not the RK ones, then they are replicas.
I was pretty impressed with RK's commitment to customer satisfaction on this one...they really took it in the shorts with the warranty replacements, but as a stand-up company, they'd act no other way. Everyone should keep that in mind the next time some new outfit comes along with prices and claims that seem to good to be true...the true, solid vendors are there, year after year, because they do the right thing. They are worthy of your support.

They don't. Ball joint mounts on the other end, spring is sort of covering it. They use stock ball joint.
They would break at the welds. People actually had these break while driving. RK did remake them, but because of how many of the bad ones went out they just stopped all together. I worked on a car recently with the newer version of them on it.

so new version was legit?

Well RKSport really did redisgn them back then, but from my understanding stopped selling them all together.

I believe RK's second design used rectangular tube stock instead of round stock. I would stay away from either version and stick with the GA aluminum control arms

design number two was sent out, and those were the ones with the heim joint rear area... those where the ones that cracked....well F that... snapped on me...
then they did another design with square tubing....same thing happened.
so basically sooner or later, they all crack under stress. and considering how cheap most people are, chances are they didnt sell many sets at near 400$. you cant even get people here to get themselves a decent suspension much less an addition thats really not needed.
so far theres been more than 10 reports on here of broken ones...

Here's a link to some more. I don't know wether or not they're any good but they seem to be an awsome company. I've never heard anything bad about them.

^^^^ ummmm.... drag only?
I must confess... I feel like a monster!
Seems most of the components from that site are for the drag racing bunch.
The control arms seem miniscule in comparison to the stockers. Again, I seriously doubt that those control arms would work for a daily driver or a track oriented car.
Still a nice find there Outlaw.
