Godzilla FSTB by OEM

Well, we here at OEM like to think outside of the box. Looking at the STB available on the market for the J's we figured there was a little improvement needed. So here we used 1 13/16 tubing matched to a 3/16 end plate all TIG welded to create on solid STB. This is a proto type unit we are testing. The unit comes very close to the MC cap, so we will be modifying it just a touch, but these will be available soon.

Looks good though. but for $115 Ill stick with my GM bar.

Mark you also wanna check for clearance on your Clutch fluid res holder

Mine sits tight against my RSM racing STB

Oh for sure it wont fit the clutch holder, and I am not worried about other hoods. This is a Proto type. The production ones will fit where the factory one sits.

EvoFire has the first rstb (round) one. I have the first one, it's rectangular

Wouldn't mind having one of those I think it'd be really sick looking on my car with a silver powdercoat.

Possibly another thing to add to my build list

This is a Proto-Type bar. This bar is for me. The real versions will fit behind just like the factory bars.

Tie that thing into the radiator support, have 2 arms coming down to it at an angle.

Triangulation is golden.

Otherwise, where's that old STB gif from around this place?

IE:

Obviously that would take a lot... but that triangulation on top would help these cars immensely.

Sorry I think this is sooo stupid, as well would clutter the engine bay up more.

Triangulation is everything! It doesn't matter how stupid it looks. It would be like 5X more functional that just the brace. Unless your doing it for looks it would be pointless to do just a bar.

That bar dose look nice though! Only thing i would change if it was mine would be to taper the top end of the tube. Bring it out onto the plate a little more for stiffness. I think that 1/4" plate off the flange to the bar is a weak point for flex. Im guessing you have it like that for hood clearance though.

Looks like nice product though. Some nice welds too.

Thanks Atomic.

Think you could whip up a wicked triangulated bolt in bar?

man... I'm glad you posted that. I was gonna buy one of these until you said something.

/sarcasm

back on point... if you're going to triangulate to the core support, how about a bracket or two for the firewall? I mean, if you're gonna brace the front end up, and you're "Overkill Engineering"... might as well go for it! lol

Not trying to start anything but seriously? Please dont post up saying another company should make a product on my thread, to me that seems a little rude. We can do triangulation but it will be more $$. Here is one we just built.

If you want a bar that will be triangulated it will be around $250. Compared to factory or any other cheap ebay bar, I think this will supersede them all.

If you do this, I would recommend to insert indentation(s) on the underside of the bars so it can do a crumple effect in case of a frontal crash.
