The question I pose is this:
The stainless steel brake lines I bought are supposed to be for my 03 Sunfire, but it says it is for 1999-2003
I thought they changed the Sunfire to Ecotec and many other revisions in 2002. In other words, I would have expected the box to say it is for Sunfires from 2002-2005. I do not know if the brakes were the same for 99-03, and changed in 04-05.
Is it 100% certain that the brake lines fit a 2003 Sunfire?
The reason I ask is I am going to drop the car off to have them installed tomorrow.
It would be really bad if they take off the old, install the new, and have to remove the new and install the old lines and charge me for bleeding the brakes a few times (aka a lot of labor to find out it is not the right set).
Any help is much appreciated.

The brake lines are the same from 1995-05 on all cavaliers/sunfires...

so easy to do yourself.... why pay for someone to do these?
I dropped this off at the shop to get it done because I have no adequate tools, lift, or facility to do this myself.
The intel:
They gave me the car back and said we did the brake pads, and other brake work, EXCEPT the SS brake lines.
They said they could not remove the old lines as they are seized.
They put some anti-seize on them and told me to come back next week.
Anyways, here is the question:
They obviously opened the box and removed the E-clips to install the 4 lines.
I count 6 large E-clips and 4 small washers.
Is it just me or 6 is not making sense?
I asked about this and the guy told me the workers already left and he did not know.
Should I have 8 large E-clips? Or just 4 and there is 2 extra?

the rears are short lines that replace section right on the axle, they have a clip on each end of the line, the fronts you only use one clip to hold it to the body then nothing holds it between the caliper and body, that section has to stay flexible. I wouldn't be worried.
Anti-seize will not loosen already seized threads, if they are siezed you use some vise grips and go to town, if you you brake the line you reflare a new end on it. I would find a new shop.
Very sound advice, thank you.
I went to the dealership, and as such, they took me for more than they quoted on the brakes on the phone.
They told me the last time I left I needed all new pads, and machine the rotors and drums.
First it was $199 (yes, they said $199 to "get my brakes done", of which I thought sounded wrong for front and back.
Then it was $249 for front and $249 for the back.
Then they charged around $85 for each pad kit and $500 for F/B.
Then I got charged for shop supplies and big time taxes.
I feel like I paid waaaay too much, but I could be wrong.
When they told me they did not even do the SS lines, I about crapped.
Then they told me the flush is 'not' included in their trumped up charges, I about crapped.
Then even charged me $20 for a tire rotation when the tires were 'already' removed when they worked on the brakes!
I got raped.
I wont be going back there.

i wouldnt have even let them touch the car for that price...
you could have went to an auto store bought a jack, vice grips, brakes, line wrenches, allen wrench, jack stands for less than that and done it all yourself.
I realize fully that I got jipped.
I probably could have done it like that, I have had no time as of late to do anything besides deal with bills, running around getting things done that need immediate attention, dealing with work and family and so on.
I remember long ago being able to work on projects, those days seem so far away....
