tein springs, what drop?
Saturday, October 04, 2008 6:01 PM
I searched and checked their web site but cant seem to find what model tein spring that offer for our jbodys.
There is two types of tein lowering springs for our j;s right?
What drop's do tein offer, i want just the springs, not coilovers......
Thanks

S-Tech lowering springs part # SKG90-AUB00 Front -1.7" Rear - 1.5"
H-tech lowering springs part # SKG90-BUB00 Front -1.1" Rear - 0.9"

Its crazy what you can find when you actually look. I went to the website of one of the companies that actively posts on JBO and what do you know, all the info is right in the product description.

Yes, i will save for some good struts...
I know monroes are basically oem replacements, but my buddy has been on monroes struts and goldline springs for 2 years now and it drives very nice...

if its not a j do not compare your car to his. it will not work. also the only way to lower it right with the s tech is either koni yellows or tokico dspecs since those springs are so low. there is no other struts out there that will take the constant abuse of being that low.

His car is a 97 sunfire gt, mine is a 98 sunfire sedan, and his car is lowered with goldlines wich settled at 2'' or more and he has been running monroe struts for two years and it drives great, and i belive the tein s-techs would be about the same drop as the goldlines when settled, so on a j from my buddys exspereinece monroe struts are doing a great job handeling a 2'' drop...

good luck with it. have you ever been in a car with a quality suspension? do that, then get back into his car and tell me how it feels.

Seriously, install Koni Yellows, I had them on my old Sunfire, and I loved them. With the turn of a knob you can go from track, to date.

I miss my Sunfire, I want it back!

You will be missed.

Ok I know I am bringing a thread back from the dead but I have Koni orange struts will they be able to handle s-techs??

I didn't think they made the Koni Orange for our cars. From what I can tell from searching, they seem to be the same as the Yellows for us. They would work just fine with the S. Tech's.

sweet thanks prowler, I dont like the drop in the front from the Goldlines I just bought, im giving it a week to see if they set in if not Im going to try to find stechs for the front only, the rear goldlines are amazing tho

You should like them, most people do. The only reason I didn't go that route is because the back isn't quite low enough for my taste. Check out this thread for some pics and review.

10 years later same story. Until you drive in something better it will always feel good.
