on the old bags the air line was at the button of the bag on the sturt, and now the updated bags are sleved now and is on top on the side facing the tire, and there is no more steel hose for it anymore, like the old bags use to use.

what? they dont offer the steel braided hose? is it possible you can put the fitting on the inside like facing the engine bay?

Re: EZ STREET NEW FRT BAG INSTALL

nope cause the new bag is pretty much press on to the strut body so if u blow a frt bag u have to send the whole thing to replace the bag i'm tryin to find the steel braided hose to put on the struts but i cant find them any where so it looks like i'm goin to have to make them or just use the dot hose i have. which i dont like cause it dosnt flex like the other hose and may wear if i comes in contact with the tire.

well i mean the whole unit itself. meaning if the fitting if facing the tire, cant you just swap it to the other side of the car so now it will be facing the engine bay? i know its hard to explain. the old struts like you mentioned had the port on the bottom. instead of me installing them where the ports were on the outside (closer to the tire) i just swapped corners and then the port was on the inside which worked better since my line was running up the wheel well close to the engine bay.

i wish it was that easy but the fitting is facing the same way the tabs that bolt the spindle to the strut , so even if i did swap them to the other side they still will be facing the tire. i'll trying and post some pics tonight of the frt struts.

I just ran mine under the fender liner and then under the rocker.

i think we're getting confused. if you have a pic it would help. try getting a pic of both the front struts.

i cant imagine they dont have some laying around still. when jim was in sales there he hooked me up with one when i rubbed through my rubber one. is the port the same size?

i think so but i would just have to put an angled female fitting or a male fitting with a coupler

The only way I can get the braided hose is if one of the Viair leader hoses happens to work... I don't know for sure what size ports & fittings, etc they all have.

that would be to small of a hose to put on for my frt struts, i'm just goin to try with the rubber hose and go from there and i hope i ran it good cause i wouldnt wanna blew a hose if it touches my tire.

something similiar happened to be except my zip tie broke and my leader hose was laying on my tie rod so every time i turned, it slightly rubbed. lol caught me one day when i was turning off a main road. thank god there was a cvs there. i went in, got duct tape, patched the btich good enough for the 10 mile ride home while hitting the switch every 30 seconds to keep air in the bag.

that must of sucked but i probley have that bet, when i use to have the air ride in my car 2 years ago i was doing a u-turn and i hard something snap and i looked my air gauge and saw that my drivers frt had no air in into so i would hit the switch to keep it up but after a while doing this the air tanks would lose air and sure enought i pulled into a gas station and my car had no more and just sacked out in the parking lot, i let the car air up and i open my hood to find that the top of my strut shaft had snap off i guess from when i use to play with the side to side switch too many times it was rubbing on that stupid flat plate they use to have, so i was made i got in my car and drove to a buddys place about 15 blocks from where i was, with the drives frt all the way down, my tire was rubbing the inside wheel well and it was a good thing i didnt have a body kit at the time or my summer rims. i never stopped for any lights or stop signs till i got to his place, my quick fix was to steal one of his coil over and shock that he had in the garage while he had his car apart.

Hence the reason I set my car up to be able to roll all the way down with no rub.

^^ Exactly, thats how mine is, I'm making it lower though, but at time being it drives at 0 with no rubbing as long as i have a at least 20 psi in the rear
