abs scan???

who can I get to scan my abs? What tool can I use to scan for codes? And how much does it cost to have my abs scanned? Thanks...


98z24, lowered 2", aem intake, cat-back striaght pipes!, cop ligths in the front and rear, 18" liquid metal's, primer black, tint, full audio and video.

not abs codes they dont.

the cheapest available consumer abs scanner is $300. take it to a national shop that does brakes.

ok, I think I know of a pretty cheap tire and brake service center

Since when don't they? 3rd gens don't have a seperate data port for the ABS comp do they? Its through the ALDL right?

I know the OBD II models are, I dont know about the 95 models though.

yes, it's all through the same port, BUT, the standard code scanners dont do abs codes.

I've used code scanners to do ABS codes before. Maybe I've just lucked out with the ones I've used.

(short of the tec-2 or snap-on modis...) i could be wrong, but the only one actron makes that read abs just came out and costs roughly $300, auto x-ray doesnt even have an abs scanner, in fact, i'm not sure any other consumer level scanners (read: moderately inexpensive {<$400}) are capable.

ok, too all that have posted, I cant just go to auto zone or advance auto and have them scan my abs for free can I? I will call tomorrow to make sure. Thanks to all who have posted.

I've used both the Tech 2 and the Modus to do it, but the ones I'm talking about are the little generic ones. I have no idea what the brand is, it was quite a few years ago. We had a pile of them to pick from to get generic codes, and of the several I picked, 1 or 2 of them pulled ABS codes that actually were codes (not some generic scanner code). Man, that was like 7 or 8 years ago now.

well, I am looking at roughly $100 to get it scanned!!!! Oh well, I guess I will just have to bite the bullet.
