Hey,
I have a creaking sound coming from the front end of my manual 2001 sunfire gt whenever I just start to go from a stopped position. It is also there whenever i go slowly over speed bumps. Just bought the car and no aftermarket parts are installed. There was also a clunking sound when i turned at slow speeds. I went to the dealership and they did a suspension check. they said everything was tight except i needed new strut mounts on both sides which would fix all the noises. I had those replaced and now the clunking is gone and the car feels a bit better when turning; however, the creaking is still there. Any ideas or previous experiences?
Also, i belive this may be the release bearing, but whenever i reach about 1800-2000 rpm and the car is under load on 1st or 2nd gear, there is a clangy rattle that comes from under the car. I checked the exhaust and everything looks good. No heat shield problems.
Can anyone please help me with solutions or possible diagnosis. Shared experiences would be great. If more information is required please let me know. Its starting to drive me crazy!!
Thanks
