the GR-2's are technically not meant for dropping. They are OE replacements.

The AGX's are meant for a drop.

However, I ran the GR-2's for a decently long time with Ground control coilovers without any problems. They did wear out sooner because of the drop, but I had no complaints. I knew they weren't designed for it, and I was happy with the ride they gave.

I personally like them.

Save your money and get something worth it. GR-2's are OEM replacements, they may work on oa 1.0" drop but save your money because you will end up buying new struts. In the long run you will save money (I set of good struts as opposed to one set of GR2 and they having to buy a decent set). i think some have been very lucky on GR2 struts, other have had GR2 on Eibach Pro Kits go in less than 4 months.

As always the choice is yours.

^^ I guess i was one of the lucky ones.

You really should get something meant for a drop, for example the KYB AGX's, or Koni Yellows. Something like those will provide a better ride, and will allow for a drop, because they are designed for it.

if you can't save money then I would suggest you change any future plans of boosting your car.

1 these struts arent made to lower on
2 these struts are fairly cheap, if your paying over 1k after everything is installed your getting raped.
