Steering rack gear?

Has anybody been inside the steering rack of a J and can say whether or not a new higher ratio gear set could be fitted into it? I know about the FE1 and FE2/3 difference but I'm talking about like seriously responsive steering like 1.5 turn lock-to-lock would be awesome. Any ideas?

PS searched and came up with cobalt crap which turned out a dead end and the FE1 to 2/3...thats all I found.

I've seen steering quickener gears in some of the stock car stuff I've looked through. Basically another added gear box between the column and rack. Theres different ratios available, IIRC, somewhere around 3:1 and lower. Look through speedwaymotors.com

Like 5 years ago i made a thread on steering ratios for all the model years, but the cliff notes was that the first 2 yrs 95-97 had the fastest ratios.

^Anything really to write home about? Or just moderately better?

My formula race car has a 3/4 turn lock-to-lock with 37degree turning and MAN is it responsive and quick. I want to get my car somewhat close, which right now I think its like 2.5 turns lock-to-lock with ~35degree angle(off the top of my head, never measured)

There was a 14.?:1 Steering ratio which, that I think came from the Sunfire GT. But don't quote me as I'm not 100% sure.
