hello all
i have been searching for about 30 minutes and i cant find a comparison between springs.
i am currently running the eibach pro-kit. i am looking for a stiffer spring.
the problem i am having is i am running 215 45 17 tires, with the toyo fenders, and i am having some problems of the pro-kit wanting to bottom out and the tires scrubbing the fenders. now from my assumption the springs being "progressive" may be my problem trying to keep to much of a comfort factor intact. first off.... is this assumption correct?
second off.... i am thinking about a set of tein springs.... now i was looking on gravana.... there seems to be a few different sets for sale. can anyone shed some light on the differences between these springs besides the drop height???
um, sounds like your stuts are blown if your bottoming out.....the toyos will give you MORE clearance if anything, this should not be happining.
First off, Eibach > Tein. Period.
Secondly, your struts/shocks sound worn as the other poster said.
It is the primary job of the spring to support the weight of the vehicle and the job of the shock/strut to control the up and down motion of the vehicle.
Might want to try upgrading your shocks/struts first.
FWIW, the Pro-kit is one of THE best performing springs on the market, bar none. I'd only put something by H&R close to them. Tein and everyone else fall behind. The German's know their @!#$ and are the originators.
well i did get the struts about 2 years ago now used. but i was told they wernt even a year old yet. i have them set to the highest setting trying to prevent the situation and its still happening.... they are kyb agx's. i know that something is tweaked in that fender, bc the passanger side has had no issues... just the drivers side. i am still playing with it. but mainly trying to prevent any more issues.... would the sportlines be a stiffer spring? or about equal to what you would get with the pro-kit?
what kind of life expectancy can i expect out of the struts? and i DO NOT have a bounce to the car that would indicate bad struts...
that drop is to low for the AGX's
pro-kit? i thought it was recommended pro-kit + kyb AGX's ? anything i can look for to indicate a bad strut?
PRO KIT is the lower drop of the 2 eibach's.....correct?
Look for leaking oil, and conditions like you are expiriencing...
Pretty sure the Sportlines are the lower drop. I've heard of a lot of people running the Pro Kit with AGX.

correct.
and as far as leaking oil n such... there is none. no complaints other than the wheel scrubbing the fender.....
Maybe too much offset on the wheels then? Has this always been an issue, or did it start recently?
When you say highest setting ,do you mean the softest or the stiffest?
not with stock fenders, and the toyos have even more clearance. and again. its only on the drivers side. i know i have an issue with the fender. which is in the process of being sorted out.
Maybe you need to lose weight?
Just kidding.
Get that issue w/ the d-side sorted first then get back to us.
finally off tommarow. shooting down to the body shop tommarrow to talk to my body guy and get some input weather its fitment, or i just need to roll the fender
I had a similar issue years ago with my drivers side rear tire making contact with the fender.
My solution was to bring up the coilovers a little and put in slightly bigger bump stops. It was only a slight rub to begin with, and that resolved it.
The issue is really your offset. My offset from the hub was slightly increased by the addition of the rear brakes and that was enough to give me issues.

sportlines are the lowest. pro-kit and agx's are the combo to go w/. had them on mine for a while. your issue sounds pretty odd. i never rubbed on mine runnin 18's and 17's.
