Just picked up some camber plates

Just stumbled across these on ebay the other day and had a bit of cash on me so I figured why the hell not. Should be on the car this weekend or next week. They look like pretty good quality. Excuse the crappy pics.

hi

Well, these are not as thick as stock mounts, so that will allow the car to sit lower without losing any travel. However, I may need to make something for Tein springs to sit on. I might need to get some top hats for the springs. I will play around with them this weekend and come up with something.

Oh and I dont think they are McMoney's, unless he has a store on ebay.

He makes these for many cars, but I dont see J-body ones anymore. Probably gotta wait for him to make more.

With these, you can adjust the camber on the fly. But more importantly, it gets rid of all that squishy rubber in the mount and makes the suspension more precise. Though they ride alot more harsh.

is that a bearing in the center?? if not how does that work when you turn the wheel?

yes. it works just like a regular mount, however your able to adjust the camber right there on the mount and since its solid you dont get squeeking noises and it wont go back like the @!#$ty stock mounts.

well, I started dinking with them today at work. I am going to have to machine a top hate for the TEIN springs to allow them to sit on the bearings. Shouldn't be too bad. Also, the spherical bearing ID is 18mm, so I am going to design the hat to fit inside the bearing hole. I know I am not explaining this very well, but I will get the CAD drawings done I will post them up here to explain it. It might take a while to get these on, as I have been rather busy at work, but I will let everyone know the progress.

By the way, anyone that has ground control kits, these may be a bolt on affair for you. I would have to check what the bearing looks like on them to be sure though.

I only see camber adjustment, no caster....which is why I asked. How do you adjust caster with them exactly?

These plates only have camber adjustment, no caster. The only way I can think of to get caster adjustment is to slot the mounting plate itself.

Ground Control sells a set of universal camber/caster plates

The GC universals are the best bang for the buck out there. You can even tell them your upper mount bolt pattern, and they'll drill it for you. I made a post a while back with all the dimensions in it. You end up with universal fit plates that are direct fit.
