Front air ride
Sunday, April 06, 2008 7:59 AM
My question is about the front ride hieght on my cavy with air ride. I see pictures of cars with my same system that the front sits way lower with them all the way down. I saw a guy on cardomain that claims u can but the front strut mounting holes to acheive another 1.5inch drop. Is there any truth to this, and if so how is it done? Also is there another way that u guys use to get the front to go lower?

im not sure about how he did it, but if you take the black circle plate and put it on top of the strut mount it will raise the strut up and drop the car lower how much im not sure yellow22 did it and he could tell you

you can flip the mount but it hits the hood. so if your running no hood thats fine but other wise you have to figure out how to fit the mount under the hood on the top of the strut tower

i am interested in this too, i just picked up a 98 z24 on strut bags and cylinders, my rear sits right on the ground, but the front all the way down i can still stick my finger in between the tire and the fender, and im running 18's with a low profile tire, i want the front quite a bit lower.

With my easystreet kit my stock steelies(195/65-15) tuck and touch my fender liners. My front bumper is only about 4 inches off the ground.

cut a small portion out of the front fender wells and you will be all the way down in the front

how can i tell what air struts i have in the front, should they be marked or any other way to tell, and my tire hits nothing all the way down, ill see if i can find a pic, i didnt build this one, just picked it up to start working on, so i dont really know what i have as far as the air system. In this pic the back is up quite a bit, but the front is layed out, thats as low as she goes in the front, the back will lay though, how can i get my front lower??

is there anything i can do to make these work thats relatively easy, i just picked this thing up and cant really start throwing a bunch of money into it, i just hate that the front doesnt lay out, kinda useless to me if i cant get it to lay out. I need to really make these struts work for me if i can, any help would be appreciated, and thanks also for letting me know which ones i had.

i just need to figure out how to make them work for me i guess, like i said i got the car this way, and have had tons of bagged trucks and a eclipse on all cylinders, but this is my first cavy, and unfortuneatly because i got it this way i was unable to be picky about the parts and get exactly what i wanted, if i knew what i am hearing here and were doing it myself i definetly would of went easystreet. If anyone has any ideas about how to get these lower please lmk, cause now they are higher than what i would even want my drive height at...lol.

I'm not complaining about the struts, and i did do plenty of research. But when someone offers u a used full air ride kit for $50 and it works with no problems, theres no way to pass it up! I was just wondering if there were any tips or tricks to make it go any lower that's all. If theres not any then so be it, i can suck it up a deal with it for the price i paid. Thanks to all who gave tips, i'm having a mount made to put on top of the strut tower to obtain a little more drop.
