Hey all, just wanted to share some pictures. Last Saturday i installed:
- Tokico D-Specs Struts and Shocks
- Tenzo-R GF2 springs
- Tranny mounts
- Control Arm mounts
- Front Swaybar
- AcDelco Fuel filter (ahh, what the heck right? that was old anyways.)
Here:
Stock suspension cavi.
The goods:
Front suspension
Ta-Dah!
The d-Specs in their adjustable glory!!
rear:
My Cavalier did not come with a stock front Swaybar....so i had to sweat a little extra installing that crap...it was worth it thou.
Now, if you are installing yours...dont worry the bar wont touch the CV joint once you lower the car.
Control arms
You know, i noticed that the cable clips were actually gray...interesting.
Tranny mounts:
I got rid of the old airbox housing...
The car was nasty...so i'll post proper pics after a carwash...

cool, lookin good
My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again
Sweet, I demand better pics once the car has settled. From what I can tell though very nice!

sweet! how hard was it to install the trans bushing? does it actually make a difference?
btw, do u know how much your wheels weigh?
* * BIG FOR SALE POST * *
I love the trans bushings. Best mod so far (minus m62). Holds the trans still so the car goes in gear every time. A tiny bit of vibes (not bad and no dash rattling).
very nice installs... i love that you did it all at one time. so did the car go from feeling like poop to feeling like a vette?
awesome man..hows she ride?..you have yours set at 4 turns counterclockwise?

There are 2 mounts fro the tranny, one in the front and one in the back. You certainly need a lift platform to work (comfortably) for the front. Basically the front you take it out from the bottom and the back mount from the top.
The wheels i don't know man..but they are kinda heavy..good traction and looks but kinda heavy.

I'm installing my trany mount this weekend, did you by any chance have to remove the washer reservoir to get to the front mounts bolt? I've looked at it, it almost seems like I have to remove the bumper and then remove the washer and air bong to get to it.

You don't have to take the bumper out; however, i took the washer fluid reservoir out for better reach. Note, if you want to get rid of your old intake airbox, keep in mind that the water reservoir and the old intake airbox are bolted tighter than a submarine's nut!! so just be aware. It gave me a hard time that sucker.

yea i like them too.. man looks cool in gunmetal .. bet you get alot of comments on the wheels alone
beautifull. How do you like the TENZO springs?
Wish I had a lift when I did all my work. Doing it on the ground is hard.

Hey IamRascal, the Tenzo R's are actually pretty good. i took the car to the Homestead, FL speedway and did some aggressive driving...and all good. no complaints whatsoever. Good Argentina product.

How much of a PITA was it to install the rear trans mount?
Caution: I have an odd sense of humor, so don't be offended by the things I say
MMMM, HIDs

Its was easy (if you have a lift. if you dont...then it's a bit harder...but nothing extreme.

now THAT's a day of upgrading! looks great.
tranny mounts aren't too hard to do on the getrag. I did mine using a jack and hand tools. nothing like a vice and some blocks of wood to press in the bushings.
now get some daytime pics!!
looking good... I see you are in Pembroke Pines, how come I (we, So.FL J-body) never see you at the local meets or regional posts?, we can meet up sometime and ride out...I also live in PP behind Pines lakes mall. good luck with the setup
