I've been planning on buying Koni Yellows and pairing them with Eibach Sportlines for my new suspension setup. My current setup is cut springs on stock struts.. the previous owner screwed me, and I've been trying to save enough money to get a new suspension. I was thinking of setting the rear to full firmness, and softening up the front until I get the most traction out of it. I was wondering if Yellows/Sportlines is a good setup for launching, or if there was possibly a better setup. Thanks.
With the rear konis at full stiff and the front at full soft to start you shouldn't have any problems with weight transfer.
If this was going to be a completely dedicated drag car I would use coil overs raised up in the rear on top of the full stiff struts, but you should be fine with your current choices. Its all about getting front traction.
Tires will make the biggest difference, go find yourself some steelies at the junkyard and throw on some drag tires. edgeracing is having a sale and they have an $89.00 wheel that weighs in at around 15 lbs that could fit the bill as well.

Thanks for your help/input. Eventually I want to run at least mid 12's with it, but still be streetable. Thanks again.
Having the ass end up a bit higher will help.
So do you think I should go for an even drop all around? I was going to get a 1.5" - 2" drop all around, but wanted the ride evened out a little.
I have Koni Reds and Sportlines. I currently have the rears on full hard and the fronts full soft. This works good. I was thinking of putting the fronts on medium. I have also had the rears on medium and that worked good as well.

id go with coilovers instead
What's the difference between springs and coilovers?
is that a serious question?
No, it's not. I asked because I knew already, and wanted to waste my non-premium posts on a question that could be easily answered by somebody more knowledgeable than me.
coilovers have a threaded sleeve and perch that the springs sit on allowing the height to be adjusted. most coilovers have higher spring rates as well which would help with weight transfer. just avoid ebay coilovers. some coilovers are a full assembly (ie struts/springs/etc) where others are a sleeve type.
most swear by ground controls/konis when it comes to the sleeve style.
tein's and gravana tuning's are popular choices for the full coilover setup.
Thank you very much strat81, your answer was greatly appreciated. Although.. are you laughing at my ignorance or my comment? :\
at your sarcastic comment... sometimes people on here forget that they were noobs once too.
Come on now, I was laughing WITH him, not at him... and to cover my ass, I was tired and ready for bed, didn't feel like explaining!
Ya, we were all noobs once, fair enough.
