tokico d-specs

hey all,
I have a 97 sunfire.
I just got my new tokico d-spec struts and the springs that go with them....I installed the fronts today, everything bolted up great,,,,,,buuuttttttt......the shaft for the strut pokes up through the shock mount. I thought they were direct replacements, but I was wrong. what do I need to do to fix this?

thanks a bunch
Brian

Yeah, you're just going to have to send them to me, I'll fix them up good, real good.

Honestly, I don't know Dspecs worth a crap, but If I had to venture I guess I'd say they're just fine. The only reason that part pokes up is so you can adjust the adjustable struts. Atleast most adjustables that I've ever worked with have the adjuster on the top of the rod that goes up through the mount. For the fronts anyways, usually rear struts have the knob or screw somewhere easier to get to with them installed.

No problem here.

Yeah, they don't install quite right the first way you had them.

cant see the pics, but i know i had to add washers to make up for the extra gap there. without them i could feel movement in them when i drove. after inserting washers, all was well

huh, why do the pics work for some of you and some not?
I've got everything installed, and now I'm playing witht the adjustments. I'm loving them already. one thing though, I bought them with their springs and it ended up lifting my car back to almost stock hieght. I had goldlines with the stock struts and it was at least an inch lower that way, if not 1 1/2".

I still have them. I think I'm going to leave it like this for the winter, and get my goldlines powder coated. My winter plans are hood, fenders and body kit with paint in the spring. So I might get the spring color matched.

Almost stock height? Possible, remember these are spec'ed for something around a 1.4" drop (which is fairly mild). A quarter an inch extra with Goldlines doesn't sound like much, but it's definitely apparent when they're installed.
