actually the rears arent. to an extend it is but the have been issues with the shaft fitting in the strut mount. the mount has to be rounded a tad bigger to fit on the strut.

I think what you stated is true for 1995-99... Later years "I think" they fit right in...

Also I was thinking the hole on the strut mount was the front's not the rears. Atleast the few I have done have all fit up perfect in the rear... If i remember right.

i remember someone telling me it was the rear they had a problem with. im almost 100% positive because a similiar question like this one came up about what modifications needed to be done and i said the front struts needed to be cut to fit the struts and thats all. i got a pm or im about the rears saying they also had a problem with having to drill the mounts to get it to fit. it could be just an issue the like kyb agxs where some people needed washers and some dont.

on my 02, the rear mounts had to be drilled to accomodate the larger strut shaft.

i bought replacement monroe rear mounts and they to needed drilled for the larger koni shafts, mine is a 98 so i got them for a 98, but i really dont think there any different through the years, the fronts for sure are different though.

also, the rear's need the current rear shocks' spring perches removed and placed on the koni's in order for them to work. just make sure they're not monroe shocks. the ones i had on the car were a HAIR smaller in diameter and the perches would not fit snug on the yellow's so i had to come up with some stocker's.
