I'm feelinf this strange poping noise between the steering wheel down to the brake pedal.!?! I get like a pop/clunk noise, but only when the steering wheel is turned to the left (I feel it on slow reversing with the wheel turning to the left) and if I am in park and just jolt the steering wheel left to right I feel it as well.
Also at higher speeds i get this mad wobble in the steering wheel .....had everything aligned and ballanced no fix.....suggestions of ther things it could be??
Would appreciate any feedback of help.
Thanks, Chris

sounds like the bad strut mounts and/or bearings very common on the jbodys
I have that same noise, except my mounts are brand new. Hints, suggjestions? Things to look for?
mine makes all sorts of noises one noise almost makes me think all my suspension is about to fall apart lol, ive check everything and cant find nothing wrong with it, mine only makes the noise when i go over speedbump or hit bumps in the road going pretty fast
"check your intermediate shaft. GM posted that it is a COMMON problem with cavaliers"
is this covered under bumper to bumper warranty? or is this a wear and tear item?
There was also a recall on my 97, a few years ago, that had to do with a bearing in the power rack for steering.. You might want to check and see if that is needed, or has been done..
the problem being described (the weird pop felt between the steering column and brake pedal) is most likely your intermediate driving shaft...My car did the EXACT same thing now that it got the extra lube kit the problem is gone...
hit up your local dealer for the lube kit.... then either diy or get a shop to do it (it's about 1 hr of labor) ... no idea what's causing your wobble at high speeds thought...
