Hey Guys,
Just wondering if someone can help.
When I put the handbreak up, and the car is off and I get out the car, there is alot of loud squeek/grind both if someone gets out from the driver or passenger side.
Is something gone on my car? Struts? Springs?..not sure..can someone help.
Its an 05 Cavalier with 73,000KM.
If you also may know what it is, is it covered under warranty?
Any advise would greatly help.
Thanks.
could be the strut mounts
It is the rear drums. The e-brake isn't putting enough pressure on the drums. So, when the car rocks forward and back after you get out of it, the shoes squeak against the drums. I hope this makes sense.
I don't think its E-brake..because its not really a squeek, its actually a loud deep squeek noise..(sorry not sure how to describe), but not a squeek or squeel of breaks.
I think it may be Strut Mounts...my friend said something like that too, is that covered in the Warranty?? I still have bumper to bumper to 100K.
Anyone know?
when the handbrake up if its holding, the rear springs will compress a bit as the car moves forward and decompress as it moves rearward
14.82 @ 97 mph
It's the rear drums and/or the rear springs. Nothing to worry about.
Park and leave handbrake off and just the car in gear and check it out and see.
