ok i did everything possible. is there a certain way to get my 21mm wrench down in so i can actually put a socket on top. i dunno. someone send me your tricks. i couldnt do it. just thought someone here could help
did you try a deep shaft socket that'll give you a little more space. ur talking about the nut on top or what exactly?
the nut on the top of the strut. can get anything down there to hold the nut while i hold the "bolt" that is straight out of the strut
then you need a better impact gun, a good one WILL take it off
anoter thing you can do is line up a few sets off vise grips down the shaft of the strut and hold the shaft still that way, but it will destroy the strut, not recomended unless your replacing them
so its not just me, i took it to a body shop and they couldnt even get it with an impact gun
i still cant get it, anyone?
i never had a problem doing suspensions using just a socket and an open end wrench.
check out bradiscool.com. there is a pic on there about taking that top nut off. maybe that could help you.
well i guess u havent dealt with an 03+ strut assebly. its completely different, an open ended wrench doesnt fit
?i have no clue, unless someone drives to my house, ill never get this, tried both sides with the springs compressed...doesnt work
impact(1 with very big balls 600ft lbs+) on and lube the nut. make sure the compressor just stopped. if that does not wort then vise grips
see ya!
mine came off fine....just set it down on the shop floor and took an impact to it.......
I remembered seeing this post and found
THIS which I posted today. Maybe that'd help ya out.
