Well i know the newer cavaliers have a lil better strut mount? or so it looks im just wondering if i can buy 00 mounts for my 96?

actually 95-99 are better cause you can replace the bearing separately

My '99 uses the '00 style, but that might just be because of when it was made.

As far as I can tell the bearing is the part that makes the poping noise so if I switch to 95-99 style on my 2002 it wont cost me as much when they go bad right.

In answer to the original ? I do not see any way that the 2000+ design could be better. Mine do not seem to last more than 20,000 miles.
