I was wondering if its a common problem with j's that when you slowly turn the wheel that the suspension makes kind of like a popping noise, i've noticed that on mine and my buddys it does the same thing, i was wondering if theirs anything aftermarket that you can do to stop it from doing that like bushings or anything, thanks

No, it's not normal and usually means there an issue with the front bearings. The front springs need to be able to rotate freely around the strut mount. If it can't, they'll bind up and then make creaking and popping noises when you turn.

The RPM's probably stuter because your P/S pump is working pretty hard... The grinding noise could possibly road debris in your strut mount bearings

yea never thought about that, and i guess there is prolly some sand or crap in there...its not really violent so i dont think its anything to worry aobut
Elf: Yeah rip your brearings apart, clean, and regrease them.
Mark: Nope, not normal. What kind of struts do you have?
If you're using H&Rs on stock struts they may be blown and making that noise.
