I have been working on this for some time now. A few months ago I got the shelby brakes mocked up on a narrowed beretta axle beam ( I made a telescoping jig to do so, pics of which are on my site linked below). I have most of the parts back from powdercoat and got the beam mounted on sunday. The caliper back plates showed up yesterday so there will be more to come.

To allow the rear ride height to be adjusted I came up with these plates and bolts (sourced from circle track parts).

In order to make this all work I had to completely remove the lower spring perch on the retta beam and make my own that will hold a spring perch that I designed and had machined. The perch has an internal spherical bearing that allows it to remain parallel to the upper perch for the entire suspension travel. The parts that make this up below.

Everything mocked up and on the car. Notice the upper perch is bolted to the large jack bolt, and the space under the lower perch that allows it to articulate.

Then while everything was out for powdercoat I managed to finally paint the rear of the underside of hte car to match the front and middle sections.

Neon ebrake cables routed inside the car with the adjustable "balance bar" that I fabricated to connect the two cables to the factory e brake lever.

Damn. Looks nice. Seems like an awful lot of work just to end up with a twisty beam again.
Swapping to IRS wouldnt allow me to run in SM for autox. I thought I would keep it legal.

Yeah it would. As long as you're still using the orignal axle mounting points for something (sway bar, etc), you can claim it falls under 16.1 part O in the rules. I've spent tons of time on the phone with Doug Gill in Topeka.

Part O is what allows us to drill a hole and modify the unibody for the weight jacks.

Yup. Since suspension is unrestricted, and modifications are allowed to permit the installation of unrestricted parts. I love the Part O section.
Thats why the K brace is legal as well.
