FE0 suspension

Wow, I just found out that I have no fron sway bar.

The trunk code used to show FE1 for the suspension package, but it is wrong. I looked under the car and nothing in the front. So I called up the dealership, and gave them my vin. Afew hours later they called me back, and found out that I had a FE0 suspension. So I have a new sticker coming in the mail to replace the one in the trunk under the spare tire cover. It sounds like mine has a couple of wrong codes in it.

I was planning on buying some struts this summer (to install my prokit with), but if I'm missing the sway bar, maybe I should go for that first? If to do the sway bar first, I'd get a rear aswell.

Would I notice more of a gain from the sway bars first, or go with the struts and springs?

Sway bars prevent you from swaying from hard cornering, you get more overall control and road feel with different struts/spring combos other then stock.

Sounds good. I'll stick with getting some agx this year, and maybe some sway bars in the fall or so.

If its sway bars you need now id the time to get them. Thrers a GP running for Addco 1" Front or Rear sway bars for $115.00 each. The front bar even includes the endlinks which with most after market bars you need to go and buy from the dealer. In your case you might need to get the D-brackets from the dealer because this kit comes with the 1" d-braket bushings, but not the d-brackets themselves.

Hmm... might have to check out the GP.

Funds are alittle tight (have to pay off an engagement ring and other things) but that is a great deal.

Does the VIN on the spare tire cover match your VIN? It may not be the original cover.

I just checked, and the vin is wrong. Funny though, because I know it original. My parents bought the car new, and I just bought it off of my parents last year... Must have been a factory goof up I guess? Oh well, I have one being mailed out to the dealership. Should have it soon.

I was always curious, because the sticker says FE1, but it handled worse than I thought it should (lots of body roll). I'm kinda glad, because it means I'm not insane... but unhappy because it adds something to my "to-do" list for the car.

You know....I wonder if you can't push the issue and force GM to put the proper equipment on your car based on the VIN and the FE1 code. It just seems that its kinda cheap to just order the sticker ya know. Not trying to screw the dealership but it sounds like that car got stripped by the dealer to upgrade another car to make a sale before you guys got there to buy your car and they never bothered to update the info on the car.

No, the car was supposed to have the fe0 suspension. The vin was wrong on the sticker, so it must have been for a different car. By getting the sticker for free, I think I'm coming ahead. I'm supprised that GM didn't want me to pay for the sticker to be replaced.
