Anyone else feel the that adjustability on the rear just isnt enough?
yes, thats one of the big reasons why i didnt get the tien basics. I was thinking about getting it and modifying the rear (find a way to make it lower by removing some stuff) but i was afraid it would blow the rear strut if i made it lower. It strange because the front can go down more.
It's not that the front has more adjustability, it seems that way because the front already sits lower from the factory. Ever wonder why Eibach Sportlines have a 1.8 drop in front and a 2.3 drop in the rear? It levels the car because the back rides higher. Tein Basics have a 2.4 max drop all the way around so no matter what the car will still have that rake unless you raise the front up.
Be kind to dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
I wonder if you can order new shorter springs for the rear on the basics, kind of like you can for the ground controls. That would even out the drop a little. I might look into that.

most spring so not lower the rear like Eibach Sportlines. There is a reason for the rear being higher it is called the rake angle. You can talk to Event he can give a better reason as to the rake angle and our car is not the only one that does that. Other cars do the same thing but it is not as bad.

I dunno. But you might want to call Tein directly and ask. The shocks might not be valved to handle a lower drop, though.

Removing spring seat doesn't help BTW
.
they are full coilovers with bumpstops, you WILL NOT hurt them riding all the way down. You might mess up other stuff on the car but not the shocks themselves. I have mine ALL the way down in the rear, and maybe a 1/4 down in the front, and the rear is still higher. The car sits right about where i want it to, but it sucks having the rear all the way down and having no more to go. The only thing i can think of is since its all the way down is pulling out one of the purches. Since there is no need for two if its threaded all the way down.
Yeah I thought about that too, but whoopty, another 1/4". As said, removing the spring seat in the rear does nothing!
Shorter springs seem to be the only option, I recall seeing multiple spring rate/spring sizes in Summit.
Joe- Since I am lazy, you should send an e-mail to Tein and ask if you can order new shorter springs

The Basics rear springs rates are 220 lbs./ in., with that being said the closest I've found are
these providing the inside diameter is the same.... Also regarding them not being progressive, coilover springs usually aren't progressive? Correct?
Can anyone get a measurement on the Basics rear springs height wise? As those being 8" are the shortest I've found, and I believe they'll give all the drop we need.
Correct if I'm wrong, as I could very well be over-looking something, I just recall seeing them in Summit and looked 'em up.
yeah yeah yeah i know i know........ oh well i gotta learn the hard way
..... ah well......
Just got off the phone with
Tein, and they do sell a spring which is 225mm high, versus the 250mm, giving you an extra 1" of drop.
The alternative I posted above will give around an extra 1.8" of drop, so tough call!
I only need around 1", but the .8" extra of adjustability would be nice.
Joe- You know you want to stick with John Dear Green!!!!
But i see your point about the extra adjustability. I just ordered mine, want me to see if i can get the shorter springs instead and we can swap?
let me know
