I have been using red calliper paint from autozone and it just keeps chipping off......i wanted to know if anyone knew any good tecniques on applying the paint, or of a longer lasting paint to use, thanks. i have an 03 cavaier
Use engine enamel. Its the same thing, but more durable. Or if you want to get real fancy (and spend alot more than you would with paint) get it powdercoated.
You're probably putting it on too thick. I do two or more very thin coats, allow 5 days for the first coat to cure before the second. Works fine for me.

How did you prep the calipers for painting?
Hose it off with BRAKE KLEEN and let dry, repeat if nessacery till clean. Then apply paint in nice thin coats and you won't have any problems. This is what I do and I use just reg none high heat paint and its been on my car for about 3 years now. True it fads after a while so i just touch it up about every 6 months or so and it looks great.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
You cant drive it right away either it needs a full 24 hours to cure, that could be part of the problem.
i scrape mine down w/ a wire brush real good, then i used high temp engine enamel. 2 coats, and its still as bright as it was day 1

I am all that is man
I spray everything. THe spindle, calaper, rotor, ect. I love the look of everything being painted. Beats a pretty calaper and rusted spindle. I hate that.
