first off, what car, year, motor, and trans do you have??? what do you have done to the motor??? what plans do you have??? is the car a street car, street/race, or pure race???

clutches used to be rated in clamping force, however thats not the way they are rated today. most clutches are rated for how much torque they can hold before they start slipping.

there are lots of clutches out there. spec, bully, centerforce, clutchmaster, all make 2nd gen clutches. i personaly have a bully stage 2. it is very grippy, but still drivable on the street, although its a little tough to keep from breaking the tires loose in the rain.

need more info here man, let us know what you have and we can point you in the right direction.

unless u plan on doing major mods to the engine y bother with a performance clutch? Im running a stock clutch on my 3400 and it doesnt slip at all, its been fully on the road since april and the clutch was used for 2 months prior in my 89 z24 5 speed vert.

I just dont see spending 400+ on a performance clutch on a stock engine when u can buy a stock clutch for under 130 that can still hold decent power.

But maybe he wants a rock solid clutch pedal, that sucks for driving in traffic, is expensive, and is basically on/off...

I dunno what your 2.2 has done but I doubt you need anything but a stock clutch. Unless you plan to go turbo soon.

You can use anything made for a 95-97 2.2. You can use anything made for a 2.8/3.1 (it will bolt up to the flywheel, but you may run into some fitment problems inside the Isuzu case, I have no idea).

Bought a heavy duty clutch from Mantapart. It lasted like 5 years but after sitting in traffic for about 20 minutes my left leg would start burning. Awesome clutch though

I have a clutchnet 6 puck sprung "street" clutch, and thier modified 50% stronger pressure plate on my 2.0. It is AWESOME. It's a perfect clutch to me, GREAT grip, barely any chatter. My clutch disc is the smallest J-body one there is, it's only 8.5". If you know mechanical physics you'll know the best way to increase grip etc is to increase the diameter of the friction material.. so a small clutch disc is a huge deficit. This clutch holds like glue. Bought it from them direct, http://www.clutchnet.net

I think with plate, disc, and bearing as a kit it was about 450 IIRC. Well worth the money as I've smoked every other clutch Iv'e had thus far (not much is offered for the 2.0's in terms of clutches)

THANK YOU.....been looking for a good clutch for my 88 turbo bird. I bought one from napa when I had the tranny open and I was low on cash......the damn thing chatters bigtime and the pressure plate has lower fingers than the clutch that I replaced. So the peice of shyza grabs 3 inches off the floor......Last time I ever buy anything from napa!
