if you get a 95 3erd gen they will bolt right up the same way.. as far as your down pipe you may have to re-work that ... but it is doable.

Thanks man! I knew it would bolt up I just didnt know about the down pipe!!
Out of curiosity will they fit the 2.0 sunbird?
I thought the 2.2s and 2.0s had the same heads?????

yeah true but sunbirds 2.0 are entirly different.. cavalier 2.0/2.2 are theoreticly the same the only difference is the style of the exhaust manifold and the air hat.

^^^all true. but give or take a cam.
People say that what doesn't kill you in this life
will make you stronger. I'm not sure if that is true
or not, but i do know one thing-You have to learn from
it and it has to make you better.......it has to.......
The Sunbird has a 2.0 OHC, it never had the 2.0 OHV, just as the Cav never had the 2.0 OHC. The 2.0 OHV head is slightly different than the 2.2 head, but it will bolt to the 2.2 block and vice versa.
ah, i beg to differ. the sunbird did have the 1.8l and 2.0l ohv carberated engine in 82 and 83, as did all j-bodies. it wasnt till mid 83 that they started putting the 1.8l motor into sunbirds (at that time still called sunbird 2000, or j-2000) and firenza's.
Hey about how much HP do you think I will gane from that header?
yeah my header came in yesterday!! So im gonna try and put ot on friday but I just dont know how much work is going to have to be done to make the down pipe work!! anyone done this before? If so let me know how it went!!
I took mine to a local shop. They were going to put another bend in the pipe that came with the header, but I wanted them to make a new piece since it needed to clear my sway bar as well. It will fit with some elbow grease and tweaking, or so I've heard.
No cutting, bending, wealding.... etc.?? cause that would be GREAT!!
I guess they held it up and it looked pretty close. The cat flange was turned just a bit from where it needed to be, but it could be done. I just needed it to clear my sway bar, so I had a custom one bent.
cool man thats good to hear
this is gonna be fun... cause im getting the header before i get the sway bar i think....
Yeah I just put it on, it took a whole hour mabey! And it bolted up like it was for that year!! Im happy now! I could defonatly tell a little bit of a diff!! Now its on to finishing the exhaust (2 1/4 cat back)!! I gotta do it after christmas though!! But thanks again for the advise!!
If you want an easy cat-back for a 2.2, buy the 3.1 system. It bolts right up, and its 2.25". You don't even need to buy a performance kit, just go to the shop of your choice and tell them you want a Z24 exhaust system put on.
yeah I have herd that, I haven't even thought about buying a "performance one"!! I was just planning to have my local shop run 2.25 cat pack!! It would prolly be cheaper to tell them " Z24 exhaust set up" since it would be technically stock!
