Can I use a 4 speed auto from a 2200 on a 2nd gen? Any specific years?

I wrote the answer in your other thread. But, for searchability at a later date (for those that use the search button)

Yes and No. It will bolt up (although it will need a custom upper mount, or at least a modified 2nd gen auto mount bracket), but its electronic. I'm not sure if its controlled by the ECM or if it has its own computer. If it has its own computer, all you would really need to do is wire it in and bolt it up. If it uses the ECM, you would have to do alot of wiring, or just swap the whole harness/ECM over to run your 2200 upper end.

it is infact controlled by the pcm. you would need to swap the whole engine bay harness and pcm from a 3rd gen, meaning converting to obd2.

a better idea, although still a lot of work would be a 440t4 tranny from the mid-full size fwd cars. you would still need to swap axles, make custom mounts, ect, but its not electronicly controlled (other than lockup) so it is more feasable.
