Hey all. I have recently noticed (but dont know how long its been like this) that my backup lights dont come on. I replaced the bulbs but they still dont work. Does anyone know where the switch is to activate the backup lights on my 88 z 5 speed?? That would be tons of help. I didnt see it on the tranny or directly on the shifter if this helps. Thanks!

First place I'd check is the fuse. If thats fine then go more in-depth. A friend of mine was using my amplifier, and both fuses blew, he thought either his subs were dead or the amp was dead. First thing I checked were the fuses, and sure enough, both were gone.
Usually the cav fuses are linked to another circuit. Which one I cant remember, but like I said, check the fuse first.
The reverse light switch is on the transmission, around where the tranny cables connect.
I have an 89 Z24 5 speed and the switch is in the center console. When you push the stick into reverse it pushes up against a button that turns the lights on. I had to replace mine a while back.
