J-body goodbye! You will be missed!
Thursday, August 04, 2005 2:16 AM
For those of you who thought this was about this site going down, apologies for the confusion.

I just traded my cavalier convertible in as-is condition (with the 400W kenwood amp, broken rad, etc.) for a Honda CRX. My cav doesnt hold a candle to this, unfortunately it's a standard so I have to learn it. I'm doing a really good job so far. This thing has a 89 Integra 4-banger motor, K&N Cold air intake, racing clutch, 15" rims, lowered and stiffened suspension... the list goes on and on. This gar was built for go-go, not for show-show. It's just plain old orange with orange interior. I need a car alarm for it and new windows before I do anything with it. I raced a 97 cav with cold air intake as well, and I screwed up 2 shifts (I kept missing the guide to the gear in the heat of the race). Nearing the end of the race I started catching up. I would've walked all over him had I gotten those 2 gears (3rd and 4th)

I like this car, but I loved the durability of my old cav... A very unique car where I am too (convertible Cavalier w/ MPH speedo... I'm in a small canadian town of 35,000 people)

oh man. I so agree with this adbot thing

and congrats on the crx btw. what year is it? any pictures?
Here's a CRX with a 97-00 civic front clip + s2000 tails. it
looks hottt (minus that stupid wing + super busy hood).
I saved the pics, but I can't remember where I found them.

Srry about the double post:

Last night I went to the 1/4 mile twice with it. The front suspension is so low the front passenger side tire keeps bottoming out on the frame (so now it's got a pinhole leak). Boy oh boy was it troublesome to change the oil too, its so low we had to lift up the car by hand to set up a scissor jack under it to change the oil... I want the front suspension raised (or get some lower profile tires) But anyway back on topic. I raced a 1999 Acura Integra Type R last night. I, myself, can do the 1/4 mile in this car at around 101mph (no joke) and this is day 3 of me learning how to drive stick (I've never driven stick before, I stalled it at the light on the way back lol) I raced him with a flat tire (I didnt realize it had a leak until about an hour after the race, he told me my tire was flat before then, but I thought he was talking about the suspension). With the flat tire, I pulled off the 1/4 mile at 160kph (or 100+ mph). I have no idea how long it took to do a 1/4 mile, I tried timing it but my cell phone's stopwatch is VERY inaccurate... It told me I got a 1/4 mile time of 27 seconds but I finished the race at ~100mph... any guesses what my 1/4 mile time is with that top speed of 101mph?

But no, I have no pics. It's got no body kits, its orange with Eagle Alloys 15" rims (and the tires look like they're another 2 or 3" added to the rim)

I realize the CRX isnt the best looking.... well.... not even close. I plan on giving it a black paint job... There are tons of parts for this car though, which is awesome, I wanna turbo my motor (1.6L 1989 Acura Integra PGM-FI) and other such things.

As stated, the car is meant for go-go, not show-show... it did however at one point have a stereo where it literally bounced off the ground.

hey. we all have to start somewhere bro. just keep you
mods clean (like a monotone black finish) and smart
(no aluminum wing spoilers).

RE: ADBOT
well I actually agree. the ads could be much worst... but
still, most ads are annoying, and adbot is no exception

If I joined every car/truck/jeep forum I post on I'd be paying hundreds of dollars a year, yes the ads are annoying but I gotta say this is the only forum I've ever seen that puts ads in the actual threads, even those w/ over 100k users.

Okay, the tire blew out this morning (the flat one, it rotted out) and I need to move the car within 2 days or it's going to be towed.

What kind of tool do I need to remove those bolts, and will they fit on the donut spare???
Plz help ASAP

learn your motor codes and get back with me... it should be engraved down the side of the block.

(b16b is a Civic Type R... b18b is a ITR (integra type r)
