At the urging of another member on here, I took the plunge and picked up an 1989 Sunbird GT Turbo Convertible For a good price.
Needs a new top, and as we learned on the ride home, also needs a motor due to throwing a rod out of the side of the block. It is an auto and I will be getting a second tranny for it from the previous owner. I have located a good 2.0L turbo motor and 5 spd in a coupe that I am working on getting for cheap. Hopefully I can have this all together by next spring, maybe sooner.

welcome. also just a note, cavaliers and sunbirds 88+ are 2nd gens.
keep in mind that the block is different auto-5 speed. the 5 speed block has an extra lug that hits the auto trans and has to be cut off. however if you are going to get a motor and trans from a 5 speed car, swap yours over to 5 speed, its much more fun.
