Let me know how bad it sucks, and share your tech articles and pictures with me. I'll post 'em up.

Daryl - great site. I'm in the process of doing the head gasket on my 86 right now. Have any tips?

Ron - I have done 2 complete suspension rebuilds. I can provide any help in the form of advice that you need. Either shoot me an email or post here. I usually read the posts once or twice a week.

Tom- Never had the pleasure of taking the head off my 2.0. It does need a valve job so maybe this winter I'll be in the same boat. I swear by Fel-Pro "Print-o-seal" head gaskets though. Used them on Quads and Ford 302 motors with no problems. Napa's Victor Reinz head gaskets are great as well. The only other advice I would have is replace the head bolts. I might be wrong, but I think the stock bolts are torque-to-yield bolts that stretch after they're initially torqued down. Someone might know for sure, but I'd replace them just the same.

Good luck with your 2.0, and if you need any pages of the GM shop manual scanned, drop me a line.

Thx Tom but I think I should be ok for the most part on the front end stuff.I am going with monroes quick strut, which includes the strut, spring, and mounts as a package deal.IT will cost me about 170.00 per assembly to do.The rack and pinion is only about 10 yrs old but it only has about 50,000miles on that. The car sat more than it was driven,so that won't be a issue. But if anything comes up once I begin I will keep u in mind, thx for the info.Nothing like doing ur self and truley appreciating it once finsihed.

Hey thanks!

I need to get back in there and revise some things, but for now I'm happy. I'm a cheap ass with dial-up and no knowledge...so I'll take it
