Trunk Lid Tension Adjusted

So I swapped my trunk lid for one with a spoiler a few years back. The trunk lid never popped up (or stayed up) like it used to before the spoiler was added. It was a minor annoyance that was pretty far down on the list. Well, in the spirit of messing with absolutely everything on this car, I pulled my subwoofer out and crawled in the trunk, shut the lid, and went to work. Took about 10 minutes to figure out some good leverage points. I just used a long 3/8 socket extension to pop the end of the rob down to the lowest setting.

Thats all that was needed. Sometimes it can be easy. I did have the family check on me in the event that I locked myself in (no glow-in-the-dark handle on my 84 )

On the downside, at the great angle I was in, I noticed some rust on the inside of the trunk lid that will need to be addressed and I decided to re-wire my subwoofer to use its crossover capablity instead of the separate crossover method I am currently using.

I wouldn't have figured that little spoiler would ruin the counterbalancing act on the deck lid.

Now something much bigger like I have, I doubt there's any hope. I'll have to take a look at your solution to see if it would do me any good.

Easy the balance is set for no wing even as light as the wing is its where its placed on the lid that offsets the balance so there for tgw weight is doubled.

I would not have believed it either until I did it
