ok, my 84 Sunbird came stock with a washer bottle mounted to the firewall. That design seems to have had some issues so GM moved the bottle to the strut tower later (85/86?)
My bottle failed so I removed it and added a strut tower brace from a Z24. My stock bottle will no longer fit there with the brace in place. My first thought was to move the bottle to the strut tower. I bought a bottle and planned to do just that. I started into it and my fan relay and turbo timer are located right where the strut mounted washer bottle would go. I am thinking it might be better to find a narrower profile washer bottle and put it back on the firewall. Any ideas where I could source one?
Any other ideas?
Jegs or make one yourself out of an aluminum water bottle
Umm I would ponder using one from the u pull it.I would have to look at my car,do some figuring and see If my thoughts may make this easier.Idk long day and u pulled again today. No j parts except another strut bar off a 1990 sunbird with a 3.1
Paul could you post a picture of your engine bay.I could possibley get something or have a unit that would work.I looked at my eng but urs is configured with mounting points different. That way I could decide if something I have seen at the upull would fly or not with the space you have.My washer bott is behind my battery so WAYYY diff than ur orig setup.

Heres on from cardomain... Does that help?
How much do u have behind the battery?Being I can't see it.
Sorry Ron-
Those pics kinda suck for what we were talking about. I thought I could reuse ones I already had out there and was being lazy. I will get better ones.
If you could get one about 1/2 the depth of the stock one that goes on the pillar that would work. I just cant move the fan relay and turbo timer.
Ok I will see when I go junkyarding again what might fly.I am not sure I will go thurs, being last wk I ran myself ragged. So might take a breather and lay low and just do simple stuff thurs.Plus the heat is a kicker, digging around in a dust bowl.I may plan monday where I can take my time,be prepared and not load the tool box to a mega 1000lbs and place in a wheel barrow.Just have to carry as much tools as necessary to make sure I have what is nec to get what I want.
It is always fun going to u-picks when it is hot and 1/2 the weight you carry is water that you have to drink to keep from drying out yourself
I have a HUGE backlog of stuff for my bird, but prolly will drive for a bit after the ps fluid flush before I tear into it again. I want to take some suspension pieces off and get them powder coated - tough to drive in that condition
Yeah no kidding on the water.I took two bottles plus a big gatorade and demolished them while I was there.I def laid low today and did some errons, and only sweat I broke was washing and drying my new civic and interior stuff.I just needed a break from working my a-- off since last wk.Plus the heat was stupid today(dry heat) but glad I did my yard work (mine and mother in laws) she lives bside me yestday.
Much better. And I have a good solution for that. You have plenty of room for a washer bottle out of the 86z I have stripped parts of at the u pull.I can get the whole bottle not sure if there is a bracket or it is just soley screwed into the shock tower.I am tired, too lazy to look at mine tonight. If your interested I will prolly head back monday to the junkpile and grab the bottle and sell to ya dirt cheap plus shpg it of course.I am planning on going being some other items others may or may not want.Let me know heck I might just grab as a extra if u do not reply back before I go.The bottle will fit no problem with the space u have there no ?R(aka cavalier junkyard guy)
Ron-
If it is the stock one of the driver side shock tower I have one and it is too big.
You know I thought about my post after I got off the computer and said umm if his stock bottle won't work uh why get another stock bottle.I do have a alternate choice, and I have one but, will grab another one monday couple bux and snap a pic and the bracket it mounts on.It is smaller!!! and should fit it the area u have available there.I will pop the pics up monday nite to see if u like.R
Ok here is my suggested washer tank. This comes with the bracket and approximate measurements.6 inches wide,6 inches tall, and 4 inches deep. This is a bottle used on 86-93 model mazda trucks(being I own a 87) I thought gee this is perfect, nice little easy to mount, and does have the motor on it plus the plug in conn and some wiring.Do you like this idea.
Paul what did you think of the washer bottle I have with bracket above.Ya probably overlooked it after I posted.
Sorry Ron-
