I've had some crappy work done by "Professional" shops in the past and they pretty much jacked it all up. Well, I had my catalytic converter crumble on me a few weeks ago and I decided to put in a straight pipe in place. Anyhow, my problem lies about 10" - 12" away from where the header down pipe levels out and I have my Hacked up pipes fit in there between my new Tube Muffler/Resonator. My hack job is not holding up because I have limited surface area with that down tube (Wideband is installed there) and I can't really get clamps to hold anything.
I'd like to keep the wideband in it's current location as well as skip putting a new converter in and keep the Tube Muffler but I can't find a shop willing to work on it because of Emissions Standards with removing catalytic converters. So, my question to any and everybody in the Baltimore Maryland area ( and who is still reading my long rant!) is "Can you please weld me some pipe?" I may need the O2 relocated, I have extra bungs, and I'm willing to travel a bit but I'm not sure how well this thing will hold. Please just let me know if you're able and willing and I'll gladly compensate you for your services. Thanks.

I may be able to help you, I can weld ok but have a few friends who are good, what kind of pipe is it? Theres also a decent shop right down the road, my friend knows the owner so he did some work for my friend.
Ot, but our cars are pretty identical lol.
I just need a foot long piece of 2 1/4 welded between my resonator and header down tube, and possibly reinstalling my o2 bung. Where are you located exactly?
Im located in Joppa in Harford county, but my father lives right by where Moravia Rd/ Bel Air rd meet and I can meet there.
And I actualy have a piece of straight 2.25" mild steel and 2 extra o2 bungs lol. I also see you have hpt???
Awesome, that's really close to me actually. How practiced in welding are you and will you have sufficient access to getting under a car? Might you be interested in obtaining some tuning time with HPT? I'd be willing to register your VIN for access and let you tune your heart out.( Not too sure about extended loan of the equipment, but definitely willing to meet up when schedules permit) Anyhow if you're seriously able and willing to help me with my exhaust issue please get back to me with your availability and we'll figure something out. Thanks again for your response.

HPT?
Someone has HPT and I didn't know about it.
I could use some tuning for sure, I need to hook up with your HPT sooner than later.
I'll pay for the credits or whatever.

Remember....syringes go in the RED waste basket.
Hey Mike, might there be any opportunity tomorrow (Saturday) to take a look at my car? Also, if you're not available, would you mind giving me the name of that shop you referred to? Thanks again for you respones.
Mastin: Once I get this exhaust taken care of I'm sure you and I could coordinate some time for you to use the HPT as well. I definitely need some practice with it so maybe all three of us together could get this HPT tuning stuff mastered.

I may be able to do it tomorow, but youd have to come up to joppa as thats where the welder is; its my buddies and he doesnt have any problem letting me use it but I just dont wana take it down to the city without talking to him bout it. What time are you thinking? I have a piece of 2.25" pipe, but only one end is flared up on one end. Is your res a bit bigger than 2.25 so it can slip over a 2.25 pipe? If so I could slip the bigger end over the downpipe, and the 2.25 end in the res and weld it up. I have a few jacks or ramps so we should have room to get under there, and if I cant get enough room to weld all around it we could just loosen the downpipe a bit. If you wana come up I could take a look at it, what time are you thinking? You can gimme a call at 410-688-8340 if ya want.
And yea It would be awesome if i could use hpt, but i have no experience with it lol. I may know a few people local who could prolly help though.
Hey man. I guess late morning to early afternoon would be cool ( 11 - 2). The resonator is 2 1/4 ID and it fit my 2 1/4 OD tubing nicely. My Pacesetter header down-tube has a short piece of pipe that's been welded to it (containing the o2). I believe that part of my issue is that when I cut the tube coming from the header I failed to cut off the entire Flare end of it and neither my 2 1/4 ID nor OD would fit properly onto it. It really shouldn't be too difficult, however, it really needs welding. Ok, well if I don't hear from you on here sometime tonight I will call in the morning....but not too early. Thanks again for your help.
