Anyone around here have one? Need to find out why my airbag light is on. Also, when the key is turned to the ON position the speakers sound great...then turn the car so the motor is running and they get crackly as hell. I am thinking these 2 things are related but I am not sure. Any help would be appreciated.
rich, you know matt has a scanner. come down to a meet im sure he can find out for you, besdes we havent seen ya in awHile

My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again
just my 2 cents, i would say airbag light is the clock spring (thats it about 90% of the time), and it sounds like your speakers are getting interference from your motor (not related to airbag), r u running stock speakers, stock wires, any aftermarket subs/amps?

first...wtf is the clock spring lol. I have aftermarket speakers, stock wiring, no subs or amps
the clock spring is the piece in the steering wheel that does the airbag as well as a few other things, but they are pretty weak, and break easily, so it is a very common repair on lots of cars for an airbag light. It is usually decently expensive to have done, since you have to pull the steering wheel, so I would plug a scanner into it if you have access.
as far as the speakers go, I would check your connections at the speakers. Usually this kind of noise comes from people who run their RCA cables right next to the power cable for the amp, but since you dont have an amp, this wouldnt apply to you.
Next thing I would check is the wiring harness for the "brain", depending on the year/model level you may or may not have this, but if you have bare, or close to bare wires near a power source, it will make this noise. I have also seen it with bad routing of an aftermarket tach wires.....then your humming goes up/down with the engine RPM
