the 16th sounds good to me!
Sorry forgot to get dded to the e-mail list.
me n the skwirl will be there unless its snowing or raining
300miles of "break in" left to go
I know I don't belong to the Jersey J's- but depending on where the meet is located, I would like to go if thats okay.
My car is back on the road & might still be in a few weeks.
Where in NJ do you guys usually meet?

hey mark, i looked into this a while back. its not too bad of a distance, probably a little over an hour drive for you.
hrm.... its iffy for me, because I have a paintball game that day... Its an early game though so I'll probably be ok to ride up with pj.... if i have to drive myself though I'll probably bail because I'll be going on 24+ hours with no sleep and don't want to take a nap in the beetle as it finds its way to the nearest guard rail.... I'll admit it, I missed you f*ckers and the last meet gave me a bit of a kick in the ass to get back to work on the 87... it'll still be a good long time before it's road worthy, but between the J-meet and the tuning sessions with PJ the car guy in me has started to wake up again. I just needed a break after two straight years of doing nothing that wasn't car related.
oh, and kon, i can't believe you dragged all those poor vdubbers all the way from north jersey to cruise with us for like half an hour lol... and get schooled by Festa of all things lol

Well I understand the car comment thing Jay. I myself have been going through the same thing. I still want to do my plans to modify the car but makes it hard when looking at the other things in my life. And what is that last comment supposed to mean "by Festa of all things".
lol I told them its usually only bout 9 of us but they insisted on seeing these alleged cavalier meets like I was making them up or something. and I told them sitting on 20 psi does nothing for them and that was proven by festa. I told you festa your def going to dyno way more than 207 whp by that run on saturday i witnessed. The vw you raced was sitting on 18 psi. one of the guys was sitting on 21. I ran a couple of them up here and unless they were sitting on over 14 psi I was handing them their ass. I ran one of the guys at 8 psi, 10, 12, and i pulled on him each time but he hit 15 psi thats where he got me and even then it wasnt by much more than half a car the whole way.
The lime green vw wants to run me in jan. if snow isnt on the ground. if festa did that basically stock with a blower, I hate to see what I will be able to do in jan. once I finish putting on the blower, head, headers back, and 15's.
Well we will see what I put down, but all of the dyno sheets I have seen all show low 200 hp and high 190 tq. Personally i want to see 200 hp and 200 tq but I will take what I get. I know what my car does and to be totally honest I hope the numbers are low because that means I have room to grow
.
I can't make it the 9th, so any other weekend should be fine. Jeffy, you can call me to remind me a few days before.....haha.
Sam
Ban low-performance cars, not high-performance ones.
The business cards came in today.
festa all that meant was that its a big blow to any cocky vw owners pride to get schooled by a cavalier... Not me, even though i'm cocky, you know I know what these things are capable of...
Kon, ask him what software he's running, he never actually told me at the meet... plus i bet like most VW guys he wasn't utilizing the increased rev limiter like he should... they're all a bunch of patsies afraid of the 7200 rpm shift lol... but if it was APR software, or especially (ugh) Upsolute, than I know why its not faster. Revo and GIAC seem to be the big names in stock turbo software. Plus there's a big difference if it was a 91 vs 93 octane tune. Most software for vw's is light on timing advance, I think i'm adding 5 degrees with Lemmiwinks over what my programming would normally use.
And just remember, 20 psi these turbos are wheezing, its not the same thing as if it were 20 psi out of a 28rs. I could literally sticking my thumb in the turbine exit and plug the flow completely.

yea thats exactly what I meant. The turbos are so tiny We were practicing punting with steel toe boots one day with one off of a newer jetta. lol
but anyways upsolute sounds very familar I'll ask him later on today if he is in class.
talking about crazy limiters, I saw a good show sunday night. A kid in the parking deck of my school comes back with a "fully" built bubble. Hes sitting there revving to about 12 grand with a huge gt35r...takes it on the road im watching from the top of the parking deck he was indeed moving quick as hell but the funny part came in when you heard a loud crackle then Bam...black smoke filled up the whole street and there goes his motor....
If you want 12,000+ rpms buy a bike.....
7200rpm is for chumps
tuning on the skwirl is going well
let me just say DAMN.. its fast
I can't wait to finally open it up... 250miles to go!
nice kill festa.. the cruise was def LONG LONG overdue it felt friggin great to hit the road with the Js again!

besides, the date and details are still yet to be solidified.
the j's are pretty open to new members, and our meets move around although they're usually based in central nj.

Im not interested in becoming a member, I'd just like to meet a few people, bull@!#$ & check out some cars. I live right over in PA so I'm familiar with NJ, but if the meet is being held in like Trenton or Toms River or something- I probably wouldn't go- little too far than I'd care to drive.
When you guys say Famous Daves- I'm assuming everyone knew where you were talking about & someone might actually post the name of the city-Unless of course, you choose random Famous Daves to goto each time. You might be surprised- even though NJ looks pretty small on a US map, it's actually a pretty big place in real life. I'll just head over to central jersey & try to find you guys.
The lack of replies led me to possibly believe non-members weren't welcome or something- I dunno.

wow, way to be totally sarcastic to the people that you want to come hang out with... the meet is a few weeks away so although festa probably does have the city, it just isn't posted yet.
slowly but surely...

the tissue was for your crying
the meet date and location is finalized after everyone's chimed in and the best date for majority is usually selected.
also, the location is solidified once the owner of the area knows we're going to be there. The Js have had substantial meets in the past numbering over 20 cars and its kind of hard to move from place to place with that many people.
just keep an eye on the thread, the date and location will be finalized in big huge bold letters so its easy to find in the thread (our threads get lengthy so whoever posts the time and place makes it really big so its easy to find).
outsiders are always welcome to chitchat, but there's a lot of banter between old friends here so apologies if you felt ignored.
