Here is an article from the delaware news journal. check out the title saying drag racing, but later on saying street racing. They are giving drag racing such a bad name.

He doesn't think that street racing = drag racing. It does, unless they were racing around corners. The bottom line is that 80-90% of street racing is drag racing and this SHOULDN'T affect how drag racing at the track is seen. That's like saying that a fight in the street should make you dislike boxing or MMA. If people don't like legal drag racing for this reason then @!#$ 'em.

Oh yeah... don't let me see this. How horrible.

This is what happens when you let irresponsible, immautre @!#$s behind the wheel of cars. Nuff said.

Those on JBO that fit that profile will now surely jump in to say that the "street racer" has been "profiled" or "wrongly accused", but the rest of us know the truth. People like you are the reason we all have a bad name. People like you are why innocent people like this woman have to die.

Enjoy your life. Karma dictates that it will be short.

I hope they find the 350Z driver/owner, and put his nuts in a vise. There's a perfectly good dragstrip 30 minutes away to prove your manhood and/or car, and yet idiots decide to drive like that on public roads at 8:30 in the morning. And the dragstrip was open Saturday, at 8am for test and tune.

And today is was raining all day, and I saw a Camaro and a Civic drag racing on Rt. 4 right in front of 5 Points firehouse about 3:30 this afternoon, so I guess people never learn.

Yea, this sucks! It's all over css.net and rlforums.com. I feel bad for the old lady and her family she did not deserve to die. I also hope for the best for the redline driver and hope he learns from this mistake! We all make mistakes just some have much worse consequences!

I feel that these @!#$s in the 350Z should be put on a life sentence for kiilin a innocent person. It's stupid I dont know what the hell either one of the racers were thinkin. Karma will be back to get it's sweet revenge on them. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the victim. They had to have hit her at a insane amount of speed to rip that mercedes in half.

Since you have to register to read the thread heres whats being said to defend him

Quote:

the saturn was my boy chris it wasnt even his fault. they werent even goin that fast the bitch pulled in front of em to make a illegal turn and got @!#$ up.. American made ownes an import!!! Its not even funnny tho everyone blames everything on young people and its mostly old @!#$ that should b at home that r driving and causing crashes. we were out friday in a blue evo and there was @!#$ load of people out i dont know what ur talkin bout plus we got pulled over for not having a tag on the car lol.

Quote:

That was my friend Chris. The media always leaves things out. The lady made an illegal turn, that is why there was an accident. She turned infront of traffic.

Quote:

o well she was too old anyways she should have been cold by now. lol

Quote:

they were about to race goin down elkton road they were doing like 70mph, the lady pulled out in front and the saturn hit her as Z was behind and as it was coming up @!#$ flying hit it so everyone thought it was a hit and run. the dude in Ion is my boy and he prolly wont even get any charges just media hype.

and here is the nissan sites thread:

I guess they're right... being hit by a car that's "not going that fast" is a sure way to shear a Mercedes in half every time.

And damn those old ladies losing their way and making illegal turns across race tracks. Oh wait, I mean public roads...

Oh wait, I think I've said all this before. It's just amusing that some people are repeating what I've said since the other side sounds like a bunch of ignorant cold-blooded asswipes that don't care about another life. Normally when I say that I'm a "hater" who "doesn't understand street racing".

Re: Death from what was called drag racing

basically what i've said about my side of street racing backs me up....i would never race on a road anything remote to that, im not saying racing on multiple lane highways with little to no traffic is ok or safe, but its safer and 1000x better than what those assclowns were doing, and thats been my point. There are places that are safer than others, no place on the street that is completely safe...

Another thing, if you look at the article again its no longer being called street racing...not sure what the investigation has turned up but alot of guys are saying that place is littered with traffic cameras so they most likely have his tag already and are building a case agains the nissan driver....the redline driver has been treated and released but not charged.

It's deff not a road that should be raced on but it's one of the hot points of streetracing in the area. Why I do not know but it is. I dont agree with how the people are backing the driver of the redline up. I feel that there are reprocussions for the consequences that you have made. I have feel that he better have it coming to him hard, as well as the 350Z driver. I used to do that when I was younger and alot dumber not that i had anything that was fast, fastest being a 90 beretta indy pace edition. I have a cousin thats in his mid 30's that thinks his F-150 is a race truck constantly trying to race someone. One of his comments " Man people are lame now they never wanna race". I feel it's stupid to be goin out there and being crazy goin in excess of 100MPH on a highway weaving through traffic. I hope people will learn someday.

I street race... I admit it... but I dont race on a road like that... illbeit whoever's fault it is they should not have been racing on a town road like that... unfortunatley if the elderly lady made an illgal turn its one she wont live to correct....

this teaches 2 lessons.. kids shouldnt race on streets like that PERIOD...

and elderly people should be tested every 2 years after 65... my dads been saying that for years... my grandmother's agree....

if she had been more aware we'd have 2 people not hurt... (not saying something else wouldnt have happened had she not turned...)

but anyway before I get flamed... I still think street racing is wrong.. do I do it? Yes I do... but no where opn roads like that or at 915 am rofl

This was my friends friend, it was an 04 ION Redline, best run to date was a 13.4.

he has a post on redline forums claiming to be the fastest saturn in delaware, not anymore.

anyway, he told my friend last night that he was not even racing the 350 Z when it happend, he was just trying to catch up to him TO race him, which makes it even worse id say.

but anyway my friend saw the accident scene it had elkton road closed off for a while, and he lives right off of it and it was a big mess all day.
