im looking for a autobody school to go to .i want to go to a good school im lookign at lincoln tech and wyotech .im looking for one either close to me or one in the north east like one i can live there in a dorm or something . does any one know any good ones and has anyone gone to one
dorm=real college
auto body=trade school
cant do both there buddy.
wyotech and lincoln tech aint great places. new england tech has a GREAT auto program, i viewed it myself, my brother went to that school. (but not for auto) its in rhode island. they dont have dorms, but they do have tons of apartment complexes nearby.
if not, then maybe community college, i know my local one (suffolk community) is cheap, and has a great program.

Some trade schools have dorms. I know Pennsylvania College of Tech has an auto body course. How good it is and what not I"m not 100% on. I'm figuring on looking into that and some other courses down there I have attended there before and to my knowledge one of the better schools in the area for techinical fields.
Lundis: How so aren't these schools not great places?!?!? Just curious. Wouldn't mind hearing why. Cause I have also considered those schools and similar ones.
i work at a dealership...none of the dealer principals i talk to ever hire people from there. they always say that they are morons, that the schools suck....im going by that. our dealer principal, next door (who owns a chain of dealers including infiniti, bmw, toyota, scion, and a bunch of others i cant remember) refuses flat out to hire someone from those schools. they dont feel they are trained properly. your better off going to a community college that is sponsered by the individual make...like my local community college has a GM program, and a toyota program, where upon graduation, the dealer does not have to send you to any kind of training, saving them THOUSANDS. they get snatched up QUICK!! one of the guys in my shop graduated from that program, he makes 25/hr now as a b tech in my shop.

ive also got this belef..anything that needs to be sold, isint a good product. a good product or service SELLS ITSELF. hence why anything sold by a telemarketer is CRAP!!!
same principle...why does wyotech advertise during spike tv's powerblock every other goddamn ad? cuz they need your tuition money!! if they were that good, they'd have people coming anyway...they wouldnt need to advertise. thats probably too nieve of me..i admit...but thats the way i think, and thats the way i buy.

Penn college has a great auto body program. I already have an associates degree in collision repair here. They also have a good bit of on-campus and off-campus housing to. So this place is probably your best bet if thats what you wanna do.
I know wyotech offers dorming or did offer dorming when i applied there. They also offer job placement while your going to school there. Only problem with wyotech they are pretty pricey everything including dorming was about 24k but this was a couple of years ago. I dont know about lincoln tech since i didnt know they offered auto body courses.
Hey, I dont know about Penn College but I do know about wyotech and lincon tech! Wyotech is sooo much better than lincon tech! They are a lot more updated with there tools and knowledge about the field. All thou wyotech is very stricked but that only what I have herd so up to you but I think that any schooling is better then none!
