anybody know of anyplace in a.a. co. md. that can do engine swaps? preferrably in the annapolis area or there abouts.
i've called numerous shops and found only 3. one in cantonsville, one in town but no matter what i told him, it seemed he thought i was putting the same engine back in. another around town, but it's a "one man crew" shop, so no telling how long it would take and whether or not he'd warrenty the work.
i don't have all the parts yet, but want to start talking to people so i can get a time frame from them when they can get to it. so if any of ya'll know of anybody, shoot me an email.
thanks in advance.
do it yourself, get a lift and an engine stand, really all it is is a bunch of bolts and sensors that clip or screw right in
Id trust doing it myself first before having some shop with no experience do it, by no experience I mean with Gm cars, most of these "tuner shops" dont know @!#$ about GM cars

i would do it myself but i don't know much about engines. plus i'm sure some welding will be involved and i don't have that kind of equipment. if not for the engine mounts, for the trans mounts. i'd also like to convert to a 5 speed. engine i'm putting in is a 2.2 eco btw.
but hey, if anyone from the org is around my area and wants to lend a hand i'm all for that.
ah yes then you will need the tranny as well, that is kinda harder job

i was hoping i could do the eco swap and just bolt my current tranny until i get the 5 speed. but i don't know if my 3 speed will bolt up to the eco. just did a quick search but couldn't find the answer. i'll look again, but it'll have to wait till i get home.
the 3 speed tranny wont bolt up
